are the tl rear's LEDs?

Stupid question I know.

The top brake light looks like LEDs to me, but I'm not quite sure about the other 2 lights. They sort of do but sort of don't.

If kept as LEDs, it must be controlled via Pulse Wave Modulation, which is something far easier then is sounds, but would add extra cost to the unit...so a broken tail would cost significantly more based upon parts alone, plus design, R&D, etc., etc...

I notice some TL owners have changed the turn signals with LEDs, is there any point to this mod other than "it can be done so let's do it"?

Four rows total. Four LEDs per row on the top, 5 on the bottom.

If I had to the time and money to invest in the research, I'd really love to tap into one row each on the top and bottom and hook them with a universal sequential kit.

Don't damage that LED board, it's quite pricey.

Honestely when I upgraded my signal bulbs to the 48SMT towers from v-led's I didn't see that much of a difference in brightness. I guess the reflector kills a lot of the output.
