TL Prices in Philly Area

Anyone purchased a TL/Auto w/o NAV in the Philly area (Acura dealerships Sussman, Montgomery, West Chester, Ardmore, Reading, etc)??? Looking to talk to them about prices. Hoping to get it for under $31,000 but do not know if this is realistic in this area. Seems like it is in other parts of the country and given the invoice plus destination being $30,300 they're still making $700 plus holdback and any other manufacturer incentives.....

Also, any info on financing would be helpful. What are 60 month car loans going for these days. It's been awhile.

You're located within an hour or two drive from the deepest discounters in the COUNTRY, like Turnersvill Acura or Montclaire Acura in NJ!

DO NOT GO TO SUSSMAN ON 611. :ar15:

I think Turnersville is the cheapest right now.

GOOD LUCK

Go to Acura of Turnersville. 32800 for a NAVI TL, imagine the price for a non-navi.

Got the best price at Reading

I shopped all those dealerships, and Larry Levy at Reading Acura gave me the best price for a TL Navi. Turnersville came in second but was good also. Montomeryville was a joke ($500 off, HA!).

Good Luck!

metro acura

you should try dave ferkler, the internet guy at Metro Acura (in Beautiful south philly's refinery/strip club district). He was very honest, quick to respond, and easy to deal with, all via email. Two months ago, he got me the best price i could find in southeast PA on a 6mt/navi.
their website is metroacura.tv

I got mine at Montgomeryville. They matched the Turnersville price, good deal, no BS and they have great service. Got 2.9% financing through American Honda Financing. Frank Bennett was my salesman.

divxz,

32,800 was the price turnersville gave me too. Ask for Von. Reading just beat them by a little bit more ($200) - and they had my preferred color combination: Anthracite and Ebony. Von was good to deal with also though.

Steven, I would have preferred to go to Montgomeryville, because I live closest to them (and a couple miles from you, it seems). I gave them the pricing from the other folks and they told me $500 off sticker, $800 if I do a deal immediately.

I am curious about your experience with Sussman. They actually beat Turnersville price on a Navi, but I still have some unresolved issues that I am not sure they are addressing. I will know more on Monday when the Corp offices open.

But I am pretty peeved that the Sales rep I bought through is now too busy to talk to me on the phone. The last two times I have called him he was extremly annoyed. Each time when I asked him if he had a minute to talk, he was pretty curt and said, "not really, but go ahead anyway."

And each time he told me he would get back to me, but never has.

The good news is that I have yet to participate in the Acura Survey. I have put them off a couple of times letting them know that I needed more time to see if the dealership would address issues before I could answer the survey questions.

Yeah, this Von person is going to hear from me!

So, I guess its alright if I buy from one dealer but have my car serviced by another? I've always taken it to the same dealer, but if I go the Turnersville route it would be a bit out of my way for service.

Turnersville, indeed, has incredible pricing but almost no navi on the lot. You will have to order if you want one and the wait is about 2.5-3 months. Good luck.

JB.
You might want to read the Donald Trump book, The Art of the Deal. :lol2:
For the rest of you call Frank Bennett at Montgomeryville and tell him you want the Turnersville price matched like Steven in Blue Bell got. If you have any problem let me know and I'll call him for you.

Going to Montgomeryville Acura would be a heck of a lot easier than going to Turnersville for me. Would you reccomend contacting Turnersville first and getting them to fax me a quote so I can show it to Frank?

I suggest you e-mail Turnersville and they will e-mail you a price quote. When you get the quote, call Frank and tell him what the quote is and that you are ready to buy and want to know if he'll match price.

I mailed Turnersville today and recieved the quote. I contacted the other dealer I had been working with and told him about the Turnersville price quote and I think I heard his jaw hit the floor while talking with him on the phone. He was shocked, to say the least, that any dealer could price the car so aggressively.

Tell him you know someone they sold a car to at the agressively matched price 2 months ago, but if they are not willing to do that anymore, you would be happy to get the car at another dealer. You need to drop their jaw, in a calm, nice, and professional tone. Did you speak with Frank at Montgomeryville?

I was already working with Davis Acura, so I decided to see if they would deal first. Frank and Montgomeryville are my backup plan.

Make your life easier and call Frank. You'll get the price you want without any BS. It's your call my friend. Be well.

You make some sense here. I'll have to stop by the dealership tomorrow.

Thanks for the advice.

Billk86,

How did you make out with Sussman in Jenkintown. I am planning a drive up there from South Jersey tomorrow evening. Is it worth my time to do so?

May I ask what you traded and how much they offered? I am trading in a '04 TSX 5AT non-NAV. Metro offered me $22,6 a month ago, but now they are offering $21. :banghead:

Regards,

Joe Kotran

Hello,

Bill thank you for your private reply. I am paraphrasing your message so that that the forum members can take advantage of your experience:

Sussman Jenkintown is price competitive with Turnersville for cars on the lot. (As of early April.) Sussman matched third party financing. Sussman's service is mixed. Service manager hand prepped car to get the deal done on the same day. However, post sale service is poor. Business office is dragging their feet and salesman has been rude and unresponsive.

This was my experience:

The price goes up if it is not on the lot! :banghead:
As of April 9 Turnersville, Metro, Sussman Maple Shade, and Sussman Jenkintown have little or no 5AT w/ NAV. Sussman Jenkintown is expecting one on 4/11 in a color that I wanted so I drove up yesterday. Bottom line:

5AT w/ NAV $34495
Trade '04 Acura TSX 5AT non-NAV 7500 miles $22495

The sales experience sucked. We waited an hour before they presented numbers. It then took another two hours to get to the above. The sales manager Jim Jackson/Johnson? was a real jerk off. He played the old good cop/bad cop routine. As the sales guy would present my counter offer he would yell 'Let them walk!'. He feigned anger and indifference. :lol1: It was an Oscar caliber performance.

I would encourage everyone in Philly to put Jenkintown Sussman on the bottom of their list. It was mine:

Turnersville: No NAVs in stock
Sussman Maple Shade: only one: white w/ parch
Metro: No NAVs in stock. Expecting a silver next week Quoted: $33800 ($21000 trade)
Reading: Mostly black cars in stock.

Good luck!

I purchased my '04 TL from Jones Acura in Lancaster PA. They took my '02 TLS and sold it to a buyer I found, and ran the sale as if it were a trade saving me the tax. They also sold me the new car for $2000 off MSRP for a 6MT, navi, high-perf tires, anthracite, ebony, 04TL. I think that this is a pretty good deal, and the people at Jones Acura are really awesome. The service department is as good as any, and the car, my 4th from this dealership is nearly perfect. The only problem I've had is a slight styrofoam sounding noise coming from the area near the homelink buttons, and a 3degree temperature difference in the outside temp sensor. No rattles, no problems, the car is just about perfect.

I was dealing with both Sussman and Davis - and didn't really want to wait for the car. My dad bought his TL from Sussman (on 611), and got it for 1800 off of MSRP. I just got one for my wife, due at the end of this month, also from Sussman and got $2K off of MSRP. By the way, both are SSM/5AT/Nav (the 2nd one will have a lip spoiler.) Negotiating at Davis was much more painful than Sussman - however the people at Davis were nicer. In the end, it comes down to the deal. Also, Davis has a better post-sale service department, not a bad factor.
