Nah, sorry to mislead you. $1900 off sticker without Navi, and on December 30th--end of year had some effect. Silver, no toys (but you can buy most of the accessories online for far less than from the dealer, if you're handy enough to install them yourself). Wings don't fall into that category, but I bought mud flaps, for example, for half what the dealer wanted.

Unfortunately, the navigation units are so difficult to find that customers WILL pay sticker for those cars. Non-navi is a different story altogether, athough they're becoming more and more rare as well. As such, unless you pay market prices you can't even put down a deposit because the salesperson won't sell you the car.

Yes, I seem to remember one of the sales reps, maybe at Serramonte Acura in Colma, saying Navi models were more rare. I think that was the same sales rep who was immensely proud of selling a TL for *over* sticker the week before I talked to him. That was enough for me to buy it from Marin Acura, which seems run by an intelligent, uncondescending sales manager.
I only saw that 1980s-era "adjusted market value" or "added dealer markup" crap on stickers at one dealership--I think Nissan, on a Maxima. How does any dealer still think people will fall for that? Then again, that dealers still try it tells me that people still fall for it.

So... did anyone talk to Peter at Stevens Creek recently, or get a better price somewhere else? Let's keep this thread alive for all the other Bay Area buyers!

Sacramento
I've talked to both dealers in Sacramento. Neither will budge off sticker for 5AT/navi. I love the car, but it kills me to pay sticker. Looks like I'll have to wait for the inventory to increase to get a fair deal.

Any updates on current market conditions for Bay Area TLs? Did anyone contact Stevens Creek this weekend (or any other dealer) to see if they can do better on the pricing?
#48
Sacramento dealers refuse to move off sticker for 5at/navi. Non navi, you can get for 700-1000 over invoice. I called Stevens Creek, he's working on something, but not as much as indicated. I should know more tomorrow.

Wait, you told him the information I told you to tell him and he wouldn't give you the price I had pre-negotiated for everyone here?
Let me know - if that's the case I'll talk to him tomorrow.

I'm currently on Sunnyvale Acura's internet mail list. As of 3/5, this is what they've advertised that they have on the lot. Their mail also indicated that all Navi TL's are typically pre-sold before they arrive.
Don't know what they're asking for price-wise. A little over a month ago I inquired about a WDP 6-spd Navi and they quoted $34,500 with wheel locks over the phone. I didn't confirm with a visit, though and I think the car may have already been sold when I inquired, so they could have quoted anything and it wouldn't have made any difference.

I just spoke with Peter at Stevens Creek -- he told me that since we last spoke, he spoke with the sales manager to try to lock in the $750 for the people I know but Raymond the SM would not budge. As such, the price is only a $600 discount off MSRP + wheel locks, which STINKS. I urge everyone to shop elsewhere to see if you can get a better price.
If you can't find a good price, go to SC and talk to Peter, but I'm pretty pissed off about this situation.

Just closed a deal on an Anthracite/Quartz/5AT/No-Navi tonight (Steven's Creek Acura). Drove it right off the lot and lovin' it after only 14 miles! I almost missed my exit 'cause I wanted to just keep going. From this thread, looks like I did okay...$1k off MSRP. I pressed pretty hard for $1.2k off but knew I was probably pushing the limit a bit for the bay area market.

Wow $1465 off MSRP. Nicely done -- I know what you mean. Even though I've owned my car for over two months now I still have urges to go driving for no particular reason. And today after work I obeyed that thirst.

BROKER???
I went through a local broker in the Denver area (HM Brown) after pulling most of my hair out with the local dealers. No muss no fuss....$1000 under list threw in the mud flaps, trunk liner, wheel locks, and waived the silly $300.00 for paper pushing. Ordered the car from Texas and had it in perfect condition in 7 days. Any of you guys look at brokers in your area? If not come to Denver.
#60
Aren't there some national internet dealers who will locate the TL in any states and broker you a deal? Any idea what the shipping cost would be to have the car sent from say, Denver to the Bay Area?

Guess I'll wait
It looks like demand is so high right now that it may be better off to wait until supply catches up. Did someone say this might happen around May? That's not too far away. *sigh*
I did check out Acura of Pleasanton, and they weren't willing to budge at all on MSRP for a Navi-equipped TL. 35,195 I believe was their list. I guess I could get a really nice deal if I go for the non-Navi, but the Navi feature plus its integration with XM and Bluetooth is just too cool to pass on.
Oh ya, my first post. so hi!

My 5AT/ NAVI/ Anth/ Ebony arrived at Stevens Creek a couple weeks early. I'll take a test drive Monday afternoon. I'll be checking for gaps, general rattles and squeaks, and vibration at 50MPH and 70-80MPH. Anything else I should check?
Additionally, does anybody know the price of any of the accesorries below:
- Rear wing spoiler
- Front spoiler
- MDX backup camera
- Trunk tray
- Wheel locks
- Clear mats
- Half nose mask
- Cigarette tray
- Splash guards
Thanks for any help.

The salesman at Stevens Creek left me 3 messages since Friday. Today he said somebody already wanted my car. I'll be in to test drive it today at 3:00PM.

It is now 11:52AM. I'll still have about 3 hours to call around other dealers before my test drive at 3:00PM. True Market Value for this car is $34,322. Please post if you have any advice.

Stevens Creek does not install MDX backup cameras on TLs. Somebody on another thread said it costs $1200.
So far no squeaks, no rattles...

Hey Lore,
The sales man is Jeff Vo. He originally wanted MSRP, said that Stevens Creek has been selling TLs at MSRP and there are people already wanting my car at MSRP. I said that's good for them, if they want to hold the car til the next day and sell at MSRP, I understand. I will just take my deposit back, go to another dealer, place the deposit and wait another 6-8 weeks. But if they wanted to sell me that car right then, which I had taken my sweet time to inspect inside and out, test drove for rattles,etc..., they will have to sell it at True Market Value, because I was not willing to pay more than TMV.
That's all I needed to say. Jeff turned out to be pretty cool. He agreed to sell at $34322. It was pretty quick and painless.
The rear wing spoiler costed me $695 (they wanted $795).
The wheel locks costed $60 (They wanted $95).
I decided to get the rest of the accessories I wanted from other cheaper sources (ebay,etc...). Dealers charge you installation fees for all accessories, even for ashtray, floor mats, car cover, cigarette lighter, nose mask, wheel locks and trunk tray.

Ohh, I thought you meant you got the two accessories for free. That's funny that they charged you on the wheel locks -- they told me that the wheel locks were included on the cars for free because they're already on all of the cars. Cool -- hope you enjoy your car.

The salesman said Stevens Creek installed all TLs with wheel locks as they come in their lot. On Sunday 3-14, they wanted to charge me $95. It was one of the 31 items in the 'Stevens Creek 2004 Official TL Pricing' list.
I told them to take the wheel locks off because I thought I could get them for $60. They then charged me $60.

Man, that sucks that they charged you $60 for the locks. I still stand my position that they should have given those to you for free. Their management told me that those were already included on the cars when they come in to prevent wheel theft. I saw that TL Pricing Sheet too -- it's just a sheet to give the customer a better feeling when they get a "discount" on the accessories.
But anyway, I cannot wait to see pics of your car. I'm loving my car more and more every week. Especially that stereo ...

Marin Acura didn't even bring up the locks or mud flaps when I bought mine. So, I bought them online and installed them myself (it's just one lugnut per wheel--you don't even have to jack up the car to install them). $35.50 for the wheel locks and $63.70 for the mud flaps from www.hond**********.com.

Couple questions..I went to Stevens Cr. a couple weeks ago and was told that if I were to order my car from the factory it would be about 4 months till I get my car. Is this true? I talked to a dealer in So Cal and they said they could have my car by about mid to end of April. Is it worth it to by from South Cal and have it delivered to bay area?
If I decide to put a $500 deposit down at a dealership in the Bay Area, what dealer do you recommend? I know SC is the largest, but not necessarily the best. I heard Los Gatos is friendly. What would you do?
Any input is appreciated!

Why order it from the factory? The car has only one factory option -- the navigation system. Everything else is dealer-installed. So, decide on a color and whether you want the navigation system, then e-mail every dealer in the area to see if they have it. From what I've seen in these forums, Stevens Creek has been pretty weasely (I mean, even more weasely than you'd expect from a car dealer).

Great Suggestion PeeCee. Actually, I had already emailed every dealer with the options I wanted (even dealers 350 miles away). None had the model I wanted :
Black on Black, Nav, Auto
Hence, they dealers told me they would order one for me. I actually talked to some and they told me 4-6 weeks wait. 8-10 weeks for the smaller dealerships.
