Cool TL on a Long Drive

Just had the oppertunity to take the TL on a long drive (Phx > Vegas). The TL
performed quite well and avg 22-23 mpg (quite a bit of the drive was done at speeds over 105). All in all it was an enjoyable experiance.

There's only one thing to do was a car that 's as enjoyable to drive as the TL... Trade it in on something else... (see next post).

Actually, I guess a case could be made for that but without the nomenclatue Phx to Las Vegas. Again, I was very happy with the TL.

We just recently made the trek from Oklahoma City to Fountain, Colorado for Christmas. With highway driving and piddling in town while there, the total trip was about 1450 miles. Had the cruise set on 79 while on the highway (both ways) and the trunk was loaded with luggage and gifts. The average mpg for the trip was between 30 and 31. I was very pleased.

Steady speed or a lot af variation? I have done about 27-28MPG at steady 90MPH for about a 100 mile run, then at just less then 75MPH I have seen 30MPG. Around town I got about 22 on my 04TL and usually easily got 26-27MPG on HWY with steady runs at 60-70MPH getting close to 30 and at 55 I averaged 32MPG.

Let's see... two tanks ago was trying for high mileage around town and got 31... then some longer trips in town and to Austin from Houston.. 30 mpg...

Then... back from Austin to Houston.. with a good amount of 'convoy' with another TL... doing 90 to 100... and the computer says 29!!! And my mom could not tell I was doing 100 except when she said something about the slow trucks....
