Thumbs up TL insurance rates

Has anyone else been pleasantly surprised by the insurance rates for the new TL? I just went to my insurance agent today to get the (expected) bad news about the damage the TL would take on my pocketbook for insurance.

I'm going from a 94 grand cherokee to my new TL and the insurance is going up less than $200. I was amazed! This in MA, btw...ymmv

Not wanting to look a gift horse in the mouth, but are there any safety featues on the TL that I need to make sure get factored into whatever discounts are offered on the insurance?

Mine dropped a little when I sold the Mustang and got the TL. I pay about $2200 a year for both cars (my TL and my wife's '02 Volvo S60 T5)

I haven't gotten the TL yet, but my insurance would drop about $160 a year from the 2001 Mustang GT I currently have.

I am in Miami, FL (home of the super-high insurance premium).

$650/yr, about same as the 96 LS400 I replaced. Consider $1k deductibles - finance & leasing companies now allow them. They can make a significant impact, especially in urban areas.

Thanks for reminding me! I just called Progressive, and my rates will go up about $568 / year for adding the TL on as a second vehicle.

My coverage is pretty maxed out, too. I have just about the max on everything and only $200 for my comprehensive / collision deductibles.

The TL was a pretty good insurance value for me as well.

I am paying $60 a month. 27 yrs old. $500 deduct, 100/300 full coverage w/Am Fam. NSX is only $30 a month as a second car!

It is very hard to compare insurance rates with others. They vary based on so many factors. I was paying $105/month for the BMW and $75/month for the NSX until an old ticket finally fell off the radar last month. The $90/month savings helps me afford the higher monthly for the TL.

$1062 per year, $1K deductable. Only $6 more per year in "Other than collision" coverage than 03 TL-S. Not bad for the state with the highest auto insurance rate in the nation.

This is a painful subject for me as I live in NYC - My 2000 Honda Accord was $1800 a year (ouch!) and TL will be $2200 a year when I take delivery end of January. This is the best rate I could get through GEICO, w/$500 deductible and includes all kind of safe driver/safety feature discounts.

Just to gripe a little more, I also have to garage my car @ $215 a month, so my car costs over $4000 a year before I even sit in the driver's seat.

I thought Miami was bad. All that cash to insure and park, one would at least hope for little or no traffic, not!:wow:

$982 per year for the TL.

Compared to $885 for the 96 Volvo 850R wagon

Or $1019 for the 00 S2000.

Man - Never realized how fortunate I was to live down south. Just under $700/year here in NC, 41 years old, no tickets, multiple car discount + homeowners with same firm. $250/$1000 deductibles. 100/300K coverage + med and uninsured idiots.

Don't come too far south. Down here in South Florida, our rates are about than double what you pay.
