TL is heavy...

have any of u taken a loaner or rented a car after driving ur TL and noticed that after u get your TL back, it feels like a tank and the engine isn't strong enough for such a big car? I just got my TL back from getting the headliner and glove box fixed and it just feels way too heavy, especially in the low torque range. :argue:

The car felt heavy to me coming from a 98 Maxima (500 pound difference). The car also felt slow. After a while you start to get used to it driving it and it will not longer feel heavy and slow. You just have to adjust to how you drive, as the vechicle dynamics are different. How long that will take you, however, I don't know. I've had my car for 2.5 months with 4600 miles of driving and I still don't feel like I have mastered the throttle control for the car. It really take a lot of accelerator travel to get the car moving (even for a normal takeoff from a stoplight), but when she moves, she moves!

I also did the TSX thing when my car was in the shop. When I got my TL back, it didn't feel 'heavy', but felt solid. The TSX felt like a toy that I could just throw around, but the TL felt like it was sure footed and had presence. As for the acceleration response, the car just takes a while to learn your driving habit and will eventually conform to your style. Not heavy, but solid is my opinion.

I believe he is referring to the ECU. Some say that the car learns your driving style, and it will drive more aggresively (shift at higher rpms). I don't see how this would apply to a manual TL though.
