Yeah the 07 ones use 1157 blikers and the 06 and below use 7443 blinkers. You can buy the 1157 sockets harness for $10 from acura oem parts.

ok so im not having a blinker problem my signals work fine....my problem is i need to know if 2007 headlights are compatible with 2006 because i heard that fog lamps are built in with the low beams and theres a plug that has no wire running to it and i need to know whats missing. when i switch off the fog lamps from inside the car the high beams go on and when im driving i think i only have the fog lamos on....i hope im being clear.....

Ok the information you're looking for is as follows.

- First of all your highs/lows are integrated into your HID bulb which is fine and needs no modification. The only work you need is to the area to the right of the HID main beam.

- The 06 TL has integrated fog lamps in the headlight component and uses a 9006 style bulb with a 9006 style connector.

- An 07 TL has incorporated DRL bulbs in the headlight... in place of the fogs.. which is 9005 style bulb.

So right now you have a 9006 connector behind your headlamps but the socket/hole in your headlamp accommodates only a 9005 bulb. From what I understand the difference in 9005 and 9006 is very minimal to make it fit in that socket you have right now, so I would just file where necessary and make a 9006 bulb fit inside that socket and just use the connector you have.

However do not put a standard 55W halogen bulb in that socket because you will melt the shrouds/bezels in your headlight due to the heat. Instead use a 9006 style LED bulb.

In a nutshell if you don't have lower valance fogs in your grills, you basically just lost your foglights.

Can't explain it any more simpler than that.

You're other option is possibly to see if they sell an adapter that gives you male 9006 to a female 9005 that you can hook onto your pre-existing wiring you have behind there, but I do not think they make those... and if you do find it, please share the source because I'm going to do this conversion soon. You'll save me some time.

Yup .. 9006 to 9005 adapter. I might as well pick up one too for a cleaner install. Wish they had a 1156 to 1157 adapter and thats all we'd need to make an easy conversion.

It said that it was a pair that was included for $25. If that's the case then we just need one order which would include 2.. that's how I interpreted it. The headlight is D2S HID you do not need to do anything with that.. that remains the same. Its only the fogs are converted to DRLs. Remember don't throw in 55W halogens in that spot.

How the F did he stick a 9006 in a D2S hole. And what the hell did he do with the stock ballast then? Sounds like a ghetto rig job to me. Do you even Have HID's?

Im wondering if he threw in an aftermarket HID kit after he realized the ballast sizing didn't fit under the headlight since they vary in size for the 04-06 TL's. Post some pics so we can better help.

No.....what you should do is buy 06+ HID ballasts and D2S bulbs. Mount the ballasts in the mounting bracket that is underneath each headlight in those pictures. This is the proper way of doing it and that is what I would do if it was my own car.

From those pics what I can tell is that an aftermarket HID setup was used from that pretty bad wire splicing. One of those wires will plug into the ballast (giving it power) and the ballast will have a wire that should plug directly into the back of the bulb (igniting bulb). Then another wire, I think its in the picture should plug into projector HI BEAM actuator (so that the metal flap opens to give high beam). This will give you the Bi Xenon.

All of this is 2 mts. plug and play once you get the 06+ HID Ballasts. The ballasts should run you used about $150.. which is what it would cost you for an aftermarket HID kit.. but the OEM quality can not be surpassed...so I rather get the OEM Ballasts.

For the spot next to the HID's .. either leave it blank for now.. or you have 2 options:

1. Get 9005 LED lights + 9006 to 9005 adapter provided in a link a few posts up
2. Get 9006 LED Lights and modify the tabs on the bulb to make it fit there and use the stock harness in the engine bay

Either way you need to use LED lights and not halogen cuz you will melt your bezels.

For turn signals.. if it works fine already then leave it. If not let us know.

I just wanted to add... don't get cheap HID ballasts and parts, because this is not a job you want to keep redoing over and over again.. its a pain to drop the bumper everytime. The aftermarket ballasts will not mount to the headlights.. and you'll have to ziptie or stick it to the underside of the bumper reinforcement bar to shield it from water damage.. just something to avoid when you have the option to like in this case. My motto is do it once & do it right.

actually i dont know if there is the wire for the high beam. the only wires that are in the pics are what i have.in the picture the wire that is furthest left is for the signals but i think the high beam one is the same. right?
and if i do install the hid kit what will i do with the non projector part of the headlight. what is the actual function of that part?

Here.. I just did this real quick... match up the plugs... the only plug you wont have is the D2S plug because you don't have an OEM ballast. The bulb will go into the projector and the ballast plugs directly into the back of that bulb. Re-read my extensive post.. I don't see how else I can be clearer. You might have to take a look at another TL under the hood to see how it is maybe. But I hope this labeled pic explains.

Also remember since you have an 06, depending on what bulb is in the DRL/Fog spot, the back of that bulb might not match up with the plug behind your hood, because the plug under your hood should be for a 9006 and the bulb in that headlight might be a 9005. If the guy wedged a 9006 bulb in there then it will match up but even if it does fit, you need to replace the bulb with an LED bulb or else you can kiss those bezels good bye in a month as they will burn out.

There has to be.. and if there isn't then whoever did the prior install, snipped the connector off for something else. The way the high beam works is it angles the HID beam of light from the projector higher by opening a metal flap inside the projector housing... so your highbeams will be HID as well. So basically that one HID bulb with ballast will be providing your lows and highs.. hence bi-xenon. Its one of the coolest features of the TL.. so I would think you would want to retain that. LoL.

I should have said this earlier.. but I think you're going to have to use the search button to get some more background info on this. I think more thigns will make sense to you then. Search for "bixenon" and read up.
