TL has broken hinges, dealer said warranty doesnt cover?
Took the TL to the dealer over the weekend, because the glove compartment rattles. After having it for two days they tell my dad that screws werent tight, the hinges were cracked and a plastic trim was missing. They told him that the warranty doesnt cover that, even though we got the extended warranty(2007 certified TL bought in July). We take it to the dealer where we bought the car (Woodfield Acura). Expecting a call tomorow. My question is why wouldn't the warranty cover this issue?

the glovebox is a pretty simple assembly, basically that big plastic box on a hinge. if you or your dad are inclined, it's probably a reasonably easy diy fix including buying your own parts online. anyone that's changed their own cabin filter that has disassembled the glove box will tell you that there aren't that many parts to it.

stingy dealer. tell em to suck it and go off to another dealer. okay no, i'm kidding. just try to take it to another dealer: explain your problem with the other dealer, and maybe they'll be inclined to "out compete" the other dealer. problem solved...maybe haahh

i think its bogus they sell you a certified car WITH a warranty then when something goes wrong they say its not covered by the warranty. If its a bumper to bumper warranty isn't everything covered?(except for the bulbs and similar things)

true that, but if you're not "familiar" with the dealership, they'll slap it as a wear and tear item. have you tried speaking to your saleman?

Why wouldn't they cover it?
Because it sounds like someone took the glove box out and F'd it up. Loose screws, broken hinge and missing trim?
Like the trim just up and wandered off on it's own? Not likely right? Someone took it off and didn't put it back. Same guy probably busted the hinge and didn't tighten the screws.
