The TL has the best leather (pics)

You people need to try some Leatherique. I was a little hesitant to spend $50 on leather products but it really brings it back to life. Leatherique makes it softer and stretchier so it won't rip as easily and also cleans the dirt out making creases less visible or even disappear altogether. Maybe everyone complaining should try some.
Also, I'm familiar with BMW, Lexus, Mercedes, Toyota, Infiniti, Chevy and Ford leather and so far Acura, Lexus and Infiniti are my favorites.

perforated leather just sucks in general. all the imperfections in my seats start in the perforations, really f'ing annoying. and i know if im not careful thats exactly where the tears will happen

I agree with ggesg; I too have had my drivers side upper and lower covers replaced twice with less than 40k miles, and this is with meticulous care. Very dissappointing.
Sorry, I respectfully disagree. I've had my driver's side seat bottom replaced twice with less than 50k miles. The passenger side seat bottom side bolsters are fading and I barely have anyone sit there. Granted the car has 142k miles on it now but these issues arose early on. I'm the original owner and have cleaned and conditioned the leather regularly.

Maybe the leather in our TLs are better than some of the cheapo optional leather in lesser car. But our car comes standard with leather. Most people will agree it sucks. Cars of recent years have better leather than in the past. (Cars in the 90s had really sucky leather, unless they were BMW or Benz etc.)
TL leather is relatively soft and supple, yes. But not durable at all. It creases and cracks too easily. Had my car since new, 6+ yrs and I'm obsessive about maintenance. The leather has been well taken care of, car had always been garaged and not over-conditioned. By 30K the seats looked bad. Now at 115K looks definitely worn in and worse. Luckily no tears yet, but I expect one soon.
I have few gripes with the car but this is one of the biggies. My interior looks great, but this the main reason it looks so aged. When I first bought my car the GRADE of leather was not a consideration. I just thought, hey, it has leather seats. Great! From now on, I will pay attention to the type of leather for future purchases. It is important.

NICE LEATHER:
NICE VINYL:
(Only the perforated parts of the seats are actually "leather". Headrests and bolsters are not)
You can condition synthetic material till you're blue in the face and it's not going to make a difference. Only the perforated parts are going to absorb and benefit from it.

I gotta say, I'm not really impressed by the leather but it's still a hell of a lot better than my E36.
I think OP just wanted to show off his crazy photography skillz

Yes, look at that leather! Yes it is a bit more rough. But I'd prefer it because it lasts and takes a lot more to crease and fade. Very German, you don't see any Japanese makes with that leather. They are always playing it safe to make everyone happy. Germans make it like they want to.
It's funny that the perforated parts are the actual leather. I remember reading that when I first bought the car. It actually SEEMS like the opposite! Doesn't the perforated part look like vinyl? The bolsters have a real feel of leather if you look at it very closely.

I like farting in cloth seats in the winter. It's almost like having heated seats for a short period of time.

This TL leather is some shit to be honest. you must not have been in many other cars my TL is my beater My 2009 M3 leather is plush not shining and cracking even with taking care of the leather, and looks softer then a pillow yet holds you in the seat unlike the Tl seats which make you feel like a slip and slide, shit my 98 supra seats feel better then this crappy leather. I admit Honda makes nice beaters that last for a long time but no way do I think the leather on this TL is any good.
