i think you spelled the title wrong.
you don't spell 'worst' B-E-S-T. it's just W-O-R-S-T.

When I was younger I used to valet cars, there is much better leather out there. I had a '98 grand cherokee that had nicer (real) leather. Not saying the TL's leather sucks but its definitely not the best.

Umm, no. The leather in the tl is pretty crappy. It cracks and tears easily even with proper care.

I have had a dozen Acuras and never had any problem with the leather in any of them. Is it the best out there no but is it as bad as some make out, not imo.

sometimes I rub it...and especially put like, lube on it. I clean it, rub it more. Massage it, keep it moist and whatnot. I really like to get the suppleness, like, really really supple. Then I work it in...and press it. I think it's great. Yeah, it is pretty great.
Thanks for the thread, it made me think about how much I do appreciate it.

My buddy has a S550 and that thing has NICE leather. I actually like the feel of the TL's leather but mine is already starting to show a good bit of wear at 5 years old.

Wait until you put a few miles on it, I love my TL but the leather just sucks! Older Acuras had much nicer leather. I had to replace all the seats in my 04 TL because it was just hideous looking.
I think if you want quality leather, Lexus is where it's at!
The perforated leather just isn't as good in my opinion.

Uhh, IDK what cars the OP is familiar with, but the TL's leather is really not impressive, particularly in the 04-06 cars. Maybe it was decent new (I bought mine used), but it wears very badly.
To put it into perspective, the leather in my dad's old 2001 Toyota Camry V6 looked far better at 8 years old and 80k miles than the leather in my 06 TL does at 7 years old and 57k miles. That was just an ordinary family sedan, no luxury car, and the leather had far nicer grain, feel and longevity than the leather in the TL (which was supposed to be a near-luxury car).

At 83K miles, mine isn't in bad shape at all, plus, I don't treat it much. It's got the typical creases, but what leather doesn't once it's used? No cracks or wear marks noted, plus, when I sit on the drivers seat, I don't slide down the bolster (just sit on the seat pad).

My 94 Buick had super soft leather, that thing was a couch lol. The leather isn't bad but it is kinda cheap. My drivers seat isn't ripped but has a bunch of lines in it, the rest looks like new. It's kinda hard and slick, doesn't grip you well. Maybe I'll try conditioning it more.

never said the 2G RL was awesome! but if the TL can be compared to the RL, the RL has better, albeit still not great leather.
RL makes my leather feel like hard plastic.

when a seat rips, you should see suede-like material on the back side, then you know it's real leather
if you look at the rl, it's not like that, because it's not real leather.... it's some form of crappy vinyl. My wife's cr-v did the same thing on the door panels and looks exactly the same underneath. there should be fabric on the backside of real leather
the smell and feel of acura leather isn't real

Sorry, I respectfully disagree. I've had my driver's side seat bottom replaced twice with less than 50k miles. The passenger side seat bottom side bolsters are fading and I barely have anyone sit there. Granted the car has 142k miles on it now but these issues arose early on. I'm the original owner and have cleaned and conditioned the leather regularly.
