TL Checkup

for some reason i feel that my TL feels very sluggish when driving normaly. even on the highway at around 40 - 60 mph it feels very lazy. if i punch it and it drops couple of gears the she pulls really good.

is there any way i can take it to somebody to make sure everything is up to its peak. sometimes it seems like that she doesnt wanna downshift on her own. i drove a tsx loaner and even thoe it is a much slower car it felt so much more alive.

i did reset the transmission it did help but still not close to the tsx lets say. i wonder why...

if you drive like that normally then the ECU sets the shift points and many other factors to maximize gas mileage....

try resetting the ECU:
1> either disconnect the battery for 15-20 minutes <-- have your radio and navi codes ready
OR
2> 1minute gas pedal method

then take her for a spin....see how she feels.....

anything should be fine....

since the car does not remember the shift points it will shift according to how you drive it.....driving it in a spirited manner will register the shift points at higher rpm giving you more fun in the drive.....

driving it slowly will register the shift points at lower rpm, thus giving you most mpg....

i think u get the idea

What about those of us who sometimes drive like a slow grandma and othertimes drive hard and fast? I don't like this transmission memory stuff, I'm starting to wish I had a manual.

well in that case just use the sport shift all the time.....its pretty much like a manual shift with a computer piece of mind (it will not let you shift to 5th at 30mph at the same time it will not let u shift into 2nd at 80mph....either case you would have blown your engine on a stick shift)......

i use the sports shift 100% of the time.....mood swings are complete incorporated
