Two weeks ago my friends Audi convertible was cut then broken into from the parking structure. To make the long story short, took the car into the police station, and got few good fingerprints of the window and the door handle.

I also had the CC cam video image of the person lurking around the parking lot area during the incident.

Since no one was killed or hurt, this kind of investigations go to the bottom of their work.

Time frame before someone looks at it? 2-3 month.

What did I do? My dad is an investigator so I had him pull some strings.

It turns out that mofo was a repeater. He’s going back to jail!!!!


What you should do: Keep calling the assigned investigator for a follow up. It’ll make him move little faster to get your butt off his back.

 

What a retard. He took your keys and only stole minor things. He had the keys to the TL, but he didnt take it? What a dumbass. You should say you want to buy your phone back and tell him to meet you where he took the phone the 1st place. Bring couple of friends, kick his sorry ass.

As much as I would like to kick his or their asses, I have a baby on the way and a 200 dollar cell phone and some four year old oakleys (that I loved)and a digi cam (that I hated) aren't worth the chance that some punk kid has a gun and could make my unborn son fatherless. As mad as I am, I am just letting it go. He didn't damage my car plus I bought some cool new Ray Bans today that I like a lot.

I'd still call the number again to see if he still has the phone. I had this happen once and made it sound like the owner of the phone won a contest (hey, I do VOs... doing an announcer is no sweat to me)

Genius actually showed up... and lived to regret it.

As for the triangulation, it has to do with what city you currently live in. In NYC you can easily triangulate the call, but Philly is waaaay behind on that curve. If it's a digital, it makes it even easier, but still it depends on the network on which the call is made.

As for the person recommending the desert eagle... ignore them. IF you ever want to be intimidating with a firearm, the desert eagle 50A.R. is always a good bet, but you need one heck of a grip on that thing when you fire it. Best bet is to go with a glock in .40 S&W or the .45 ACP in a 1911 variant. Both are easy to fire single or double handed, much more accurate and honestly... the caliber of the bullet is large enough that you can see them down through the barrel, which is one hell of an intimidation factor.

If you're more into wheel guns, .357 all the way.

Personally, I'd say to just have some friends mulling in the crowd if you were to call the punk and maybe let the police know that you called him and have him meeting you... but that's just me.

In the end though, I hope that you didn't skimp on the insurance for your car... I'd get reimbursed if that ever happened to me.

I feel your pain, last night some a-hole from my apt complex threw a huge rock through my rear window of my '99 Accord. That A-hole is gonna get his when I find out who it is. I got that rock and while is car is on fire in the parking lot, he's gonna get his rock back, RIGHT IN THE FACE!

 

I was at Christian Life Academy ( a Church) off Perkins near Essen Lane.

I replaced my phone today, no more bluetooth for me. I am the proud owner of a Motorola v265 ( I think)


BTW......I almost busted the dude with www.covertcall.com I called him from 911.

 

Well, you probably want intimidation, cause if you kill someone over a phone you have a problem. Mace him, I would do that without second thought.

 

Just a little update.......Verizon finally got me my phone records from the night. I was able to reverse the number and get two addresses. The other numbers were cells but as soon as anyone answered I just started talking like I was picking up on some random conversation right were I left off........Then I would say something to the effect of "is this Ray?" They would say no this is Joe.......Then I would say "Well Joe whoever broke into my car last week called you from my cell that they stole I am giving you the opportunity to give me that person's name and number or I will be forced to turn your info over to the police......I just want my items returned......Joe and one other decided not to give the name but I have four other numbers to call.
