TL Audio SUB Rattle

I bought my TL last Saturday and that same day I noticed a loud annoying rattle coming from the sub area. Today I went to the dealership and had a talk with them and apparently mine is worse than most peoples' because the rattle doesn't go away by putting pressure on the sub. Well the person I talked to told me that Acura is currently investigating what is causing the sub rattle and they will take a look at my car this friday. Accords have been having this same problem and Honda technicians are also looking at that. I'm wondering if anyone else experiences severe rattle from their sub area? Hopefully it is something loose and not something that I have to deal with for a while. I have to wait a couple of months before changing the stock system because I don't have the money so hopefully there is a quick fix.

Well, I'm bringing mine in tomorrow for that same sub rattle. It's one of a few I'm having fixed(?) during my 7500 mile service. I'll post tomorrow.

I am pretty sure the rattle is a common problem. While my car was at the dealer getting the bumper repainted for peeling paint, they put some insulation around the sub and told me they had fixed the problem. Well there fix also involved turning the sub down, as soon as I turned the sub back up, there was the rattle. hope you have better luck

I had the same rattle on mine vin # 54xxx and one day I noticed that it came from the rear brake light housing bumping itself on the rear window when playing music with a lot of bass at volume 20+. I have since upgraded my system to an after market 12" sub and amp and had the factory sub disconnected. The rattle is not there anymore as the bass is all in the trunk, not to mention the system sounds baddazz. Try holding the high level rear breaklight to the glass and see whether this is the problem. Good luck!

I had 3 miles on my car and when I left the dealer to make that "first time drive" I put the music up and noticed that rattle under hard bass. I plan on hopefully getting it fixed when I get the first oil change.

I HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH MINE, SO WHEN I WENT TO INVESTIGATE I NOTICED THAT IF I TOUCHED THE REAR BRAKE LIGHT ON THE CEILING THE NOISE WENT AWAY. I DONT KNOW IF MY 04' TL IS THE ONLY ONE DOING IT, BUT YOU MIGHT WANNA CHECK IT OUT. (I NOTICED THE VIBRATIONS BEFORE THE 2 JL'S)

04' TL 5AUTO SSM/QTS
INJEN COLD AIR
2 12' JL W3V2 w/ 500/1 JL AMP

I had my dealer check this, they said there was a replacement seat belt bracket that needed to be put there because the previously designed on rattled or something, after the fix I haven't gotten a rattle
