TL is the Accord in Japan?
What happened? I thought the Honda Inspire was the Acura TL and Vice-versa. See these links.

This should be old news by now...
I think they will bring an Acura TL wagon?

The TL used to be the inspire up to 2003. They also have the saber, which is a limited version of the inspire.
The US accord does look like the inspire, but it does not have many of its technologies, like auto(laser) cruise control, cylinder shut-off technology, keyless(card) entry system (coming on RL).
The TL was mainly design by honda of america acura division. The TL is only sold in the us and canada.
The inspire use to be produced in ohio up to 2003, but I don't know if anymore.

I was just checking out the JDM Honda website yesterday. The Inspire looks MUCH nicer than the USDM Accord, although they're the same.
Any chance the Saber will be reborn in TL skin??

My brother's looking to buy a car and we test drove the TL today. This car was phenomenal, and I'm taking quite an interest in the car.
By the way, I was under the impression that the previous TL was based upon the previous Accord's platform. Is that true of this car, i.e., is it based on the current accord's platform?

Sorry, man, I don't remember the whole history, you may take a quick shot to those links above, then we could wait if someone is willing to help detail the history of TL/Saber/Inspire again...

The inspire is currently Honda top of the line, the legend is coming back, so it won't be anymore.
This is the front of the inspire, with a OEM kit.

Though neat (hehe ) HIDs, card entry and laser cruise (HiDS) are not features that make it measurably better (or distinguished) than our EX V6. BTW, VCM (aka cylinder shut off tech) is forthcoming in the USDM AV6.
So for all intents and purposes, they're the essentially the same car. (There are features in a 2002 Nissan Maxima GLE/Infiniti I35 that I dont have in my 2002 Nissan Maxima SE but they're basically the same cars.) Now if Honda put the TL's 270hp J32A/6MT in the Inspire (i.e.: Mechanically distinguished), then we'd be talking a whole different ballgame.
Peace
JDM Inspire
USDM Accord EX V6
