tl 07 tinting ?
What I would like to know is whether it's normal to cut out a portion of the tint for the back window to accomodate the third brake light. I've seen a few TLs where this has be done...it looks wack! I wonder if they can remove the third brake light, apply the tint and put the third brake light back on?
Also, I've seen TLs that do not have their side rear windows (the ones with the "ULEV" label i think) not complety tinted. Make sure to tell the tint shop to put the tint under the rubbers.

what do u think
Hi guys,
I just found a tinter who said this is the same problem for TLs as in the mustangs. He had stuff in stock to place on the windows it basically looked like a felt material. Do you think this would be fine, or would it need to be the moleskin? The material looked like velcro but felt like felt. Is that what the moleskin is ? What you guys think?
thanks

I purchased an '07 in March and had the dealer recommended tinter do the job. Yes, he did remove the inside of the door panels (I was worried as well). He said the main reason he has to remove panel is to insert a little strip so that any trash trying to slide down into the door (when window is put down) is rejected and does not scratch the tint. So far, it has worked great, and no ill effect from having any panel removed. Also got a single piece for rear window and looks fine and works fine around brake light.

hey, just got back from the tint shop,TintMax, someone here mention the place,so i went on the website, looks good, so that's where i went Steve did a good job. w/o taking the door panel off, just the weather strip, and then he put on a soft liner. i think it's moleskin.
I paid around $250 to have mine done. I agree it can be done with or without taking off door panel, but the install with that little strip added with the door panel off can make a difference. My tint does not go over the middle brake light....
hi i just posted a question just like that. i also own a 2007 tl type s and i just got it tinted 20%. And tnt in nova charge me $300. your car needs to be moleskin it when they take your door panels and open them they dont even take them off very easy to do no problem and they put sports tape but it very smooth any this is very easy and thats why half to open your door panel like this your tink doesn't rub off
