TL 06 AT vs Pontiac Grand Prix

This isn't impressive or anything but the reaction I got after the race was worth it.

Story:
We were at a light, 3 lanes turns into 2 lanes scenario, I'm in the middle lane, the grand prix is to my right, which merges into 2 lanes. Light turns green, i know he's not going to Lowes, so I just check for a second what his intentions were, he pulls on me slightly, and I got WOT, and pull a bus length on him.

The instant he hits 60 he eases off his throttle and just merges behind me. I move to the far left lane now, waiting for the next light to turn green, I turn VSA / AC off and my tires chirp for half a second and boom I'm gone, I see him now driving like a grandma now.

THE END.

Def. not a GTP

I had no intentions on racing till I saw his baseball cap all cocked to the side, and was in the third lane who was going to attempt to pass me. If it was a GTP I would have said not worth the gas, but since I knew I could take him I did.

GTP's are fast as hell. Got my heart all racing and woke me up for the morning drive.

Just expressing my opinion.. so no hard feelings.

We OFTEN see complaints of the "Ricer Flyby". I think this "grandma driver" should be complimented and not ridiculed, I feel that he did the mature thing. Raced. Lost. Backed-off. It is what I would had done if I was in his position. I would take it (him backing off) as a gesture of respect.

It also depends on the year. What style we talking? NEWEST style? Or the 97 to early 2000's style?

I think the newest GT's are similar to the old GTP's. Now they have the GXP which as a 5.7L V8 - 303hp.
The old GT's were 200hp and 225ft-lbs.

If I had to guess I'd say it was either just an SE or whatever of the newest or the older GT. Just by how much you said you smoked him.

A newer GT would be closer than that. A GXP should hand it to ya. I THINK that MAYBE the older GTP would too. Not sure..

He should have the older GTP. I have a few friends with them. Although one of my buddies has one with a blower on it, and he loves to point out that his 96 pontiac is faster.

Damn him.

But he can get away with it because he's pretty big into cars. His latest is a newer body camero with an LS1 and juice. Not sure of the rest of his setup, but I know it's all been reworked. A guy like that whipping your ass i can deal with. It's the 16 year old momma's boy that drives a $40,000 car and lives at home (car paid for because of "good grades")

Good counterpoint as 16 year old mommas' boys are minors nonetheless and have no choice BUT to live at home....unless they are runaways.
