TL '04 brakes any good?
I have a 2002 TL-S and if I have one complaint it's that the brakes could be more responsive. I don't know if this is a Honda issue or a FWD issue or what, but it's the one thing that's not up to snuff in my view. So I'm wondering how the brakes are on the new TL. Also, how big a deal is 'Brembo' and why do they only offer it on the manual?
I only did a quick test drive of the new TL and the brakes seemed more responsive, but I'm hoping one of you new owners can give a better perspective.
Thanks people! Happy driving.

Venting and heat dissipation are the #1 concerns. Honda Motor Company has never been known for their brakes. Any car will stop good when brand new.
Frequently distorting rotors from being overheated yielding that vibration (or pulsation) you get in the steering wheel whenever you hit the brake pedal is their biggest dilema. I've owned 2 Accords over the years and frequently had this problem. What's more, my Acura salesman admitted they're still suffering from this through 2003. One potential fix for this is to have the lug nuts torqued to 80 ft-lbs whenever the front wheels are put on rather than letting the air gun decide when they're tight enough.
As for the Brembo brakes, they're larger, have 4 pistons (2 pressing on each instead pad instead of 1) and are lighter. The only thing you probably need to replace are the rotors with cross drilled ones.
I'm sure I wll.
