Com'on dude....Brake Pads and tires are suppose to be worn out since the car uses both once you drive the car. We are talking about the Trim where you don't need to use it to drive it. I have mine dented and scratched on both sides. All we are trying to say is why can't Acura use better materials thats all. How would you like it if you were driving a brand new TL for a few months and it is scratched and dented?? NOt very happy b/c your car is so new and the metal piece should not dent or scratch so easily. If ACURA thoughtfully plan it then this thread wouldn't have started. I wouldn't have complained but you are comparing apples and oranges dude!!!! That is my

The best way to find out if you can get a free replacement is to check with your service manager.

The list prices are $86.30 for the left side and $85.58 for the right side.
Dropping keys on it is Acura's fault? I once poked a hole in a leather seat (in my idiotic youth) by sitting with a screwdriver in the back of my jeans, but i did not have the nerve to ask for warranty remedy. I ate that one.

One option for the fumble handed might be to pull both sides, and have a paint shop shoot some semi-gloss epoxy based clear over it. That would at least provide some resiliency, and resistance to scratching - you could polish out normal wear and tear with paint polish.

I can't believe that everyone is moaning about the design of the interior. If it bothers you that much, trade it in and go buy something else. And good luck keeping whatever you get clean, dent free, and in pristine condition.

My last car had a big plastic console in the center of the car. Instead of denting, it simply scratched repeatedly in an arc where the seatbelt would move forward and backward as I would shift in my seat. At least in this car I only need to be careful as to when I plug in my seatbelt, not how I sit.

Yeah, but Audi doesn't put it where you can hit it with your seatbelt tongue.

I was thinking we could use some of that stuff they want to put on the front of the car for stones and bugs.

There is a place here in Palm Beach that says he will fabricate REAL "thick" aluminum for my TL. He said it would be $350 for both sides of the dash.

I'm going to go ahead and do it. I will post pic's when the work is finished. I have two dents right now and I hate them.

This thread has two camps.

Those who have dinged the aluminum, and those who are going to.

Let me tell those who haven't dinged yet...the foil coating on a stick of gum is tougher than the aluminum console trim. When you get your first ding, you'll be singing a different song.
