Tires Again

Just read these posts on TOV forum:

I live in PA. This past weekend I took a trip to Cincinnati, OH. On the way I stopped at an Ohio Acura dealership. Some of the TL's had Michelin Pilots.

and

YESTERDAY I STOPPED AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP IN PETERS TWP, PA (SMAIL ACURA). THERE WERE SEVERAL ACURA TL'S WITH MICHELIN HX MXM4 TIRES.

What's the deal here?

Is Acura switching to Michelin's or not?

Please help!

I called the dealer in Ohio, they did it on thier own and will swap out the tires if you ask them to.

Sorry, not acura based.

Some dealers have started to do tires swap by themselves. That's not the final suggestion or order from Acura Headquarters yet. This is why you always see different choices of tires in several dealers.

Thumbs down tires don't fix all

Upgraded tires did not solve my +80mph vibration problem. The 50 mph vibration is gone, and the car handles like its riding on rails now, but there's still something really wrong here.

That's bad to hear. I'll see if I can find a day and a place to check that on mine. I've had it to 75 and it was smooth to that point.

acuraddict,

Is the vibration coming from the wheels as far as you can tell - or is it the drivetrain?

I'm still using EL42s now. Except the slight vibration at 50-55 MPH with 5th gear around 1400-1800 RPM, I have no other vibration between 55 and 120 MPH.

What kind of vibration have you experienced? The whole car shaking or just floor or steering wheel or seats?

What Ohio dealer? I bought mine at Columbia Acura in Cincy and have complained to Acura corporate about my flatspotting. Heard my case is "under review" and "they are aware of a widespread problem". Heard nothing else.
