tire pressure?

Didn't see this in a search of the forums so I figured I'd ask. I checked the tire pressure tonight on my TL with about 1,000 miles (stock EL42s). The sticker on the door says the pressure should be 32psi. The actual pressure in all the tires was around 34-35psi. The tires were cold and the car hadn't been driven all day, outside air temperate was about 75 degrees.

Should I deflate the tires to 32?

Yes, to get to 32 you would discharge air - when the tires are cold as you describe.

By the owner manual, doesn't it say you could have two basic tires pressue setup? (Maybe I'm wrong here, I haven't read it for 6 months.)

32/32 with 5AT... 35/32 with 6MT... 39/35 with high speed driving...

I use 39/35 since Oct. And, last time I had it at 45 degree. The pressue will go up while outside temp is 75 and tires are cold. While summer is approaching, I have to deflate them periodically. IMHO.

rets, anyone else - Can you recommend a GOOD tire pressure gauge? I have one of those cheap ones that has the little sliding plastic thing at the other end. It works okay when you get it on the nozzle just right, but there are lots of false starts that just cause air to leak. Is this common with all such devices or is there one you can recommend?

Purchase a dial air pressure gage it is more accurate. I bought one for $20 in autoparts store.

Well Acura recommends 32, there was a good article where they interviewed a Michelin Engineer and showed some test results. Bottom line, he said it is better to be 5 over than 3 under, from a saftey point of view. I tend to run my tires on every car 2-3 over. So I run the TL 34-35 and use a dial guage which I have found to be fairly accurate. Also I believe every 10 degrees in temp is 1lb of air pressure change, so as season changes you need to check and adjust.
