Tire Issue Update

From the southeast district manager:

Acura has a NEW TIRE coming FROM Bridgestone that supposedly fixes the problems we're all having.

I'll keep everyone updated when I get them installed (to be determined).

Thanks for the info. But I think we all heard this before. Did they give you any idea when the tires will be available? The last I heard from my service manager was 2 weeks ago, saying the same thing. He told me I would hear something in 2-3 weeks. Hopefully I will be getting a call from him next week.

The dealer doesn't give us the free replacement if our tire goes bad. It doesn't matter what they use.

I got wind of the same statement from a Service Manager here in the Bay Area (Northern California) -- brand new tire for problem owners.

First post here although have been reading for month or so. Very useful site. Sure wish I would have discovered the site three or so months ago.

Received a call from my service advisor today concerning the tire issue. He said that his district manager was in Tuesday and obtained a listing of customers with EL-42 tire issues so they can begin shipping replacements. He has no specific deliver dates, but was confident that they would begin to arrive in a couple of weeks. And, as reported in previous posts they will be the same tire, but redesigned. What are they changing, have no idea. The service advisor was told at one time the rubber compound would be changed to improve harshness. Harshness is not an issue with me, vibration is the issue. We will see.

Lore, when you get it, let us northern californian's know. The last I asked the service managers at Stevens Creek, they played ignorant...

I do feel the vibration at 50mph - 60mph only in the morning when the car is still cold.

For sure. As soon as I hear from the service manager, I will update everyone.

The last I heard (Monday, 2/9) they were anticipating replacements to start coming in about 2 weeks. This seems to be consistent with what others across the nation are hearing.

We can't really expect a completely different set of tires. As long as it fixes the problem, who cares?

Don't get me wrong I'd love to have upgraded tires for free, but I'll settle for no more vibrations.
