Tiptronic?

You know, the quasi stick shift thingy in the 5ATs? Is there any performance increase or just for fun?

It's just fun, some people say they can hold out the gear an extra 200~300rpm, to help them bring them closer to the power band when they upshift.

i think its just for fun. Because if you hold a gear fro more than 300rpm it will shift to a next one. Its fun from time to time.

Best used in the mountains or track days when downshifting to be on the power band for the exit of the corner is critical

On the 5AT Gen2 cars- it shifts from 1-2 for you, in case cruising parking lot or traffic and forget.
The thing is so quiet you can end up at max revs and the rev limiter kicks in- lots of fun!

You may also notice how many new sports cars feature this technology- even putting the shifter on the steering wheel!
