tinting tail lights

i see a lot of people paying liek $40 + shipping for those kits. whats the difference between buying those kits and buying the tint kits at walmart. cause walmarts $20 with enough tint to do 5 cars only difference is you ahve to cut it yourself. are there any benefits?

thanks

FYI, I will be posting on the black market section for a temporary tinted vinyl for the tail lamps for the Acura TL and TSX. These are pre cut for the specific vehicle and will come in 2 set. We are testing it out and so far the process has been very good. So I will keep you all posted.
These special tinted vinyl are not like those tinting film that you see on the window. It will not leave any adhesive residue onto the lamp. These vinyl are similar to the vinyl that you see on cars with roll calls. So these are temporary. If you want to take it out, just peel it off and that's it.

I will post pic in a few days!

The mylar tint film adhesive is designed for glass, it will not adhere to plastic very well. It also does not stretch. You need to have an adhesive that sticks immediately so that you can stretch the vinyl material to fit the compound curves of the lens. I would be afraid of the temporary material coming loose at speed as well as during washings. I have been using a signage vinyl that works perfectly for this application. It can be removed if necessary without any residue, it is intended to last for 7 years on exterior signs. It is easily stretchable at compound curves and readily shrinks if needed with heat.

The vinyl material I am talking about cannot be removed and then reapplied, the material will stretch out when you pull it off and will not look good when reapplied although it will still be sticky enough. Also it wont leave a residue. You can get it from a commercial signage supply store. its used for diecut signage

It wasn't. It was posted before your question and on a different subject.

Try this link. I purchased both front and rear from this vendor. Worked like a charm, on and off whenever you want. Watch out for car washes and high pressure hoses. Will not come off at speed (up to 110+ anyway…) or when raining.
