Tinting a KBP TL-S
Tinting a KBP TL-S
My apologies if this is the wrong place....I searched for pics in the garage, but couldnt get a good feel for the tinting.
Just got the TL-S and am thinking it would look good with a nice tint. I'm not looking for anything too dark. Would be nice to see some pics that show off anyone with a KBP with different tints. Any suggestions/pics?

I had a KBP TLS and went with 35% all around and it was perfect. Keeps the car classy looking. I also like to keep the tint percentage uniform throughout. Looks cleanest I think. I say 35% or 20% if you want a little darker. I can't post pics right now since I'm not home but you can search my user name for pics of my KBP TLS.
I'm a big fan of 35% in front and 20% in rear. Classy look IMO. I did that to my royal dark blue 3G and it looks awesome while not really hindering safety at night time. People with black TLs would know better tgan me though I guess lol. Although I think this setup would look better than trying to black out your car car. Plus depending on your state laws for tint it could decrease your chances of getting pulled over.
i really dislike the look of dissimilar tint. i never understood why anyone would want that. for lack of a better term...it 'cheapens' the overall appearance. just my opinion though...i know a lot of guys have it.

When I see a car going down the road that has ridiculously dark rear windows then like 35% on the front doors it looks just retarded.
35% looks great inside and out, is legal in most states, and you can see out them at night relatively easily.
17% front and 5% rear for me, it hardly looks uneven. some ppl even think mine are the same when they look at it. thats because both are dark enough that no one can tell the difference unless you really examine it closely.
i fully agree with the 35%. i got ~20% and it looks fine when its nice and sunny out (especially cause i have tan interior), but on overcast days u look like you're totally blacked out - not my intent. if i had to do over, i would absolutely go 35% F/R. that's the most tasteful approach hands-down IMO
so u have uneven tint F/R, or u have no tint on the front at all? either way...u wouldn't just prefer to roll 'fish bowl' style instead? guess i'll never come around...but to each his own

for lighter % like 35%, its easy to tell the difference in uneven tint, but hard to tell for dark tints. its like saying the difference between a gallardo and a murcielago. both are so nice and most ppl will just think its a lambo, doesnt matter what model it is

Thanks folks. Based on your comments and the pics that were posted, I am leaning to 35% everywhere except windshield (illegal here). I like the "classy" look since this is my early retirement DD
I agree with 35% all around. I just tinted my KBP with 35% and it looks great. I have the taupe interior so it looks lighter during the day than it would with the black interior, but I love it. It's not too dark or too light, just right. 35% also does not effect your visibility at night either.
I had 35% on my 04 SSM TSX and it looked great, but I also had 20% on my 08 WPD TL-S and really loved the darker look. I agree with keeping the percentage the same all around for an even look.
I initially had 32%. Looked good but I wasn't too happy with it. Got it re-tinted 20%. I really like it, but now in the back of my mind I'm always thinking a cop is going to pull me over. No trouble so far...knock on wood. If you are at a retirement age, 35%-32% is very classy.

^^^ never use HP+ on your TL....hPS is the way to go
and I dont think he tracks his car....we on Azine mod our cars performance-wise and make it seem like we track it but we dont

Nope, I wouldn't use HP+ for the street on the TL anyway. Just curious about the HPS appliied to the TL.
the previous owner of my TL had to remove the two front side window tints due to a fix it ticket..thinking about 35% since the 3 rear windows are really dark..
...tint or mid muffler delete...

35% in the front will look keep your car looking classy
do tint first and then do the mid muffler delete
35% all around. Looks cleaner and classier to me. I used to do the 20% and even tried 5% once. That was almost impossible to see out of at night, in the rain.
I've got 35% now and especially with the black interior it's dark enough. I do think the darker tints look better on silver and white cars. One thing though, make sure you find a tinter who's willing to do the complete quarter windows!

Just got my TL-S 08 one month ago . the preview owner got 20% tint around but
I found there are a lot of inside scratched line from bottom up ...just like when you roll down the window and something is scratching the film .
Bring it to a tint shop and they said it will scratch again if I re-tint them .....
Do you guys have this problem with inside line scratch ?
Thanks for your input .
