Tinting headlights
Yes I know you can clear them but I don't have the time to get them cleared right now. So I am thinking tint is the best option.
I know blue bat overlays are good but how hard is the install?
I installed some tint on the tails of my other car and it was static cling tint and it lasted 2 months and then the left tail tint fell off. I had to tape them down otherwise they would fall off. Do I need to tape the blue bat over lays?
And does blue bat make overlays for the taillights? I have the LED taillights so I want something light smoke so you can make out the LED lights.
While I am making this thread I have another question lol. I want to add red LED turn signal for my taillights and I know you need to install a resistor because LED use less voltage. What if I install a 12V LED bulb? Resistors needed or not? Stock bulbs are 12V.

I'm thinking he just want to tint out the amber on the headlights, not the whole headlight?
You know that JnC, and AcK provide trade in services so you don't have any down time with your car. Just something to think about.

Ditto on Nate's comment.
Just go with a trade-in-program.
Better to wait and clear it yourself or by trade-in rather than wasting 30 dollars, or whatever it is, on tinting your turn signal (that will only, as it seems, last you until you get it cleared).
But to answer your question, I believe blue bat does have tints for the tails as well.

I had the Bat tint overlays.
The headlights were easy; I had the ones with the cut-out/cut-around so it doesn't tint over the front of the light.
Also did side markers - easy; looks pretty good.
Also had tails w/cut-outs. Couldn't do 'em. Trashed one of the peices of film and didn't want to buy another set. Quite a bit harder than the headlights.
Later, when I blacked my headlights, the tint film came off with no problems.
I've got a thread somewhere (check the Photo Gallery) with pics of the head lights and side markers with the Bat film.

4 or 5 of 10?
I "practiced" with the side markers first. The headlights have a simple curve and shape, so that makes it easier.
It's not "cling" tint. They are adhesive coated. You soak 'em in soapy water, place them from one end and use a squeegee/card to smooth them as you go. You can re-wet them as needed during install to keep them supple and slippery.
You use a hair-dryer to get the film to stretch/shrink to fit, if needed. As they dry the adhesive is activated.
A third hand would be helpful, especially on the tails. I'd say the tails were 8 of 10; twice as hard.

I think I might just do the headlight since I only want to get rid of the amber. Did you tint the whole light or just the amber and how was the HID visibility at night?
I say dont even bother. Just save up for cleared or blacked out heads from jnc or ack.
I have my tails tinted and i now regret paying for the tint because im probably going to be buying base 07-08 tails or type s tails.

No change in output.
