Sorry to add to the flurry of recent regional tinting threads but seeing those got me thinking .......................

Anyone found a good tint shop in the Greater Toronto Ontario Area that can tint TL's give the "special" problem our cars seem to have with rails scratching the tint? I'm pick my car up on Saturday and I was gonna use the tinter I've been with for 15+ years but if others have good experiences gettin' their TL's tinted I'd like to hear about them. I know I can describe the procedure to stop the scratching but if someone has found someone who has done it before I'd be willing to give them my business. Thanks!

I booked an appointment with FX Auto in Markham for end of March. I've had a couple of friends go there and they were very happy with the results. When I called to book my appointment the guy I spoke with (Wayne) was very knowledgable. Definately recommend checking them out, I have never heard anything bad about them. (www.fxauto.com).

 

like pvansh said, i recommend FX auto, i did my 30% ceremic tint there.

 

I know a guy who tints up in vaughan. Give him a call Don 905-738-5020. Knows his stuff and tints lots of high end vehicles

If ya don't mind me askin' approx how much did the job run ya and what type of warranty do they give? Did they felt the front doors? If your car is a Navi did the ceramic tint on the rear window impact navi accuracy?

Sorry for all the questions guys but I want to find a place that will do the job right AND minimize the chance of stratching the front window tint and not decrease the accuracy of my navi. I don't mind paying $$$ for a good job that will provide me with all those things. Thanks again!

 

I haven't had mine done yet but I've booked the appointment. I was quoted $275 w/tax for ceramic tint, lifetime warranty. Ceramic should have no effect on navi. I asked the guy about moleskins/felt. He said the '04 TL had alot of problems without it but the '05/06 seem to be better. He said he doesnt recommend it, and if anything happens to scratch it he'll replace it. Apparently the tint they use has a very strong anti-scratch layer.
