Is it illegal to have your headlights or tail lights tinted? If it is, do cops usually pull you over for this or is it rare? I love the look of it. And how much would it cost about to do this? Thanks alot guys!

^ Eric, no they are not illegal here in Washington. They just want the lights visible when you turn them on showing that they are in working condition.

I have heard from others, cops are pretty strict in NY so I am thinking they might be illegal. I understand they are illegal here in Cali, but it just depends on the cop you run into, sometimes they completely ignore, the fact you have no front plate, or tinted windows, and others they will pull you over for for a broken tail light, this happened to a friend.

 

i doubt they are illegal. as long as the light is visible then you should be clear. but i would make sure first before anything.

 

I remember reading(in Illinois) that a light(tail) has to be visible from 500 feet away at night. Just a thought. I wanted to do it myself, but ROckblocker.com is being fucking stupid. I hate that website. I ordered 50 times and called them 100 times. No answers, and they keep denying my purchase. Fucking lousy!

 

yup im in chicago and i have my tail lights tinted and havent had a problem with a cop about it but he said i couldnt have my licence plate cover tinted .

 

Does anyone know any of these laws in New Jersey? I love the look of the smoked tail lights, but dont want to be bothered by cops at the same time..
