was at my installer today to get my remote start put in and i was questioning him about tint and the scratching issues...also whether or not they will put in the moleskin....

he claims that they have been removing the inner trim on the windows and this prevents the scratching from occuring.

has anyone heard of this or had a tint shop do this? He claims he has installed tint this way on 4 other 04' TL's and they have no scratches...

 

Yes, one of friends got his inner trim cut to prevent "tint scratching" happening. So far so good. That tint shop has done dozens of 3G TLs by this way.

 

how long ago did he get that done rets? just wondering whether or not i need to front the extra loot for the moleskin or not

 

What are we talking about here .. pulling the whole assembly (both inside wipers) cutting off one wiper or trimming both wipers back??

 

not exactly sure what the process is, the installer just said that they remove the trim....
