Tint brand?

around here in Mass some of the most popular brands are Suntek, 3M, Llumar, Huper Optik, Madico Advanced Ceramic.

I'm leaning toward ceramic tint cuz it's good with signal ans stuff. I guess Huper Optik is the best but I wouldn't wanna pay $300 for it. Madico also provides ceramic tint and only cost $180.

What do you think about the brands, and do you think Madico advance ceramic is a good ceramic tint or should i just stick with regular Suntek tint?

I've always stuck with Llumar Because of their Lifetime Warranty and every place here in Central Florida recommends it. And You know how that Sun be in Florida... BLAZIN

I have the same on my 760 and my accord, the MDX and TL have 3M which isn't that great because it's so thick for being the same percentage and scratches easily.

yeah I saw couple pics of your car with Huper Optik and love the way it looks, not like regular black tint. Only 1 local shop provides that tint and quoted $300
I might go with the Madico Advanced ceramic cuz it's $120 cheaper and it's... ceramic Anyone have this on their car?
oh btw.. what are the advantages of ceramic tint? I know it doesnt interfere signals and it block heats better than regular tint, but is there really anything else?

there are 3 main types of tint

-dyed
-ceramic
-metallic

dyed tint is usually a dye, hence the name. Over time, it can fade.
Ceramic tint does not fade and has the same UV and HEAT protection as a 5% limo dyed tint.
I have a 35% all around and it keeps the car somewhat cool. Although, it still gets mighty toasty, I'm willing to bet the front windshield and its real estate contributes to that.
I want to get a 70% huper optik on my windshield soo bad!

I had my truck done with 20% in the back and 35% metallic in the front and it made a huge difference in the sun. I'm using Solar Guard and I'm happy with it thus far. I have to say though, get a good place to install it. Don't go with a mobile service, I don't care how good they say they are because there are too many environmental variables (like dust) blowing around when it's done outside or in your drive way.

i have madico charcool tint, so far i like it. and its not suppose to interfere with navi or bluetooth.

just keep in mind everyone is going to be a bit biased to the tint they have on their cars...so...just do your homework and then formulate what will be best for your applications/needs/budget. keep in mind its the installer that is key here, not just the tint. good luck.

Not trying to hijack, but has anyone heard of Viper tint? The same company that does alarms. A few shops in the Philly area are pushing this.

yeah that's my point, Madico Advance is also ceramic so I wouldn't pay extra $120 for something slightly better.
go for the front tint or windshield sun shade.. After the tint I might get a sun shade since I park outside all the time and our dash tend to crack!!

yesterday I was thinking I wanna get my moonroof graphic tinted.. may be an American flag or some silly graphic. LOL

Have seen them on Viper website when I was doing some research on the Viper alarms.. They are new in the tint industry so i bet not to many ppl have them on.. but they don't look cheap either! As others have said, as long as you don't get cheap ass tint or dyed/faded tint, then it's the tinter that you need to worry about.

Then what is Llumar ? I was quoted for $170 total car tinting. Lifetime fading warranty, non-metallic, and told it wasn't ceramic as that was "much too expensive"

do you know if the Madico Advance ceramic would look the same as the Huper Optik, they're both ceramic and I love the look of Huper Optik, haven't seen a car with Madico Advance yet.

btw, have you done any moon/sunroof graphic tint? I'm really digging the idea but come to think very few tinter would actually offer graphic tint.

In Cali, Huper Optik runs for $500+. I'll probably be getting Pinnacle Formula One's Ceramic soon.

madico has has two types of "charcoal" tint. the "charcOOl" line which is navi friendly its more of a hybrid tint and their mid range tint. and the "charcOAl" line which is their entry level tint. they also have different warranties on them as well.

many of the tint places in my area really didn't push the ceramic tint when i inquired. they said it "wasn't dark enough." now i'm not exactly sure what they were referring to whether it was the actual see through part of the tint or the way it looked on the car or both. and prices for my area for the mid range tint (non-metallic) varied anywhere from $220 to $380. ceramic ran even more.

google is your friend when it comes to finding the specifics of each tint and which line a tint installer may use. ceramic tint will give off a reflective quality (hence the heat rejection factor, i'm assuming). and there are state regulations on the reflective appearance of the tint. the charcool tint has both a moderate heat rejection (depending on darkness), but not nearly as high as ceramic and 99% UV protection. other brands have a charcoal colored tint as well...you just have to figure out what makes up the film (metallic, non-metallic, hybrid). i did a bit of homework before i actually committed to tinting my car (it only took 6 yrs ).

is there a reason for why noone have done this on their moonroof? It seems legal and would be an eye catcher! I went onto a couple of decal/vynil websites and nothing for moonroof either! May be I'll try to measure the moonroof and special order one.

I did my own with a kit from snaptint.com they use solar guard films which are great quality. $89 dollars and as many replacement pieces as you need just have to pay for shipping on them.

How do you like the Johnson's tint? The tint shop near me uses only Johnson's and while the shop seems very legit I've never heard of this tint brand. They want $199 to do the whole car.

haven't heard of Johnson's tint either.. but dont bind yourself to just 1 tint shop, google local tint shops, call around, ask what type of tints they offer and their prices.

the film is easy to work with, i love how it actually looks black when applied not like most reflective tint. provides great protection for the interior of the car and my favorite is that it comes with a lifetime warranty against fading, turning purple, bubbling, and peeling. customers always leave satisfied with the tint.

this is done with tint. i first tint the whole window with 5% and then hand cut out the graphics with my olfa blade.

no plotter, no decals used

what kind of tint is it?
if its a ceramic based tint, then there would be no fading, any way. so the warranty claims against that would be null.
but i'm just speculating.
what kind of tint is Johnsons?
