hey everyone

i just recently brought home my 06 5AT TL w/ Navi on saturday and i went a car modification shop that my friends recommended to schedule an appointment for tints.

i want to get my windows tinted but i dont know anything about tint. my friends say that this place is the best place to do it and this is where they had their windows tinted and they also have a lifetime warrenty but even with all that, i still think the $300 price + tax they quoted me is a little too steep.

do you think im better off shopping around or should i just get it done here for $300 + tax?

another question i have is the guy was talking about % for window tint and i had no idea what he was talking about. he tried showing me a couple of examples and i still didnt really understand it. can a couple people post pictures of their car with tint and tell me what % is the front and back so i can have a better idea of what % i want on my car. thanks a bunch

 

Well. I guess depending on what state u live in and how many tinting companys are near you.. The less ull pay more the more ull pay less.. I live in florida and the avg. rate was abouit 150 bones.. but if u wanted the " better tint " it was more.. Also if u wanna be a law abidding citizen.. u need to go according to ur states tint laws.. Florida is 28% side and 15% on the back 3... My car is 18% all around... If u dont want anyone to see in get 5% or limo.. if u dont care if people can see in i recommend 30% not to dark not to light!! Here is a pic of my car with tint.. but its a cloudy day so it looks darker!!!



This one is my older car i had it was 5% all over!! the driverside window is down. plus the tint was lumar and it turned purple. DO NOT GET DYE COLORED TINT!!!



then my mazda was 15% on the side doors. and 5% on the back

 

I see you live in PA.. there tint law SUCKS.. It says 70% on all windows... So i wouldnt go to dark unless u wanna get pulled over alot.

yea i heard before that PA window tinting laws are really strict but many friends of mine have tints of their cars and they all have illegal tints and never have gotten tickets or pulled over because of their tint.

would anyone be kind enough to show me a picture of a car with 30% tint?

 

On the back window of this toyota it has 35%
