my advice get 35% all around. Where do you live? Having 35% all would genearlly be less noticeable to the cops compared to 20% all around. I've always recommended 35% all around also because it tends to look more classy than the split percentage tints or total blackout look

I went with 20%. If it ever stops raining I'll get some pics up. It isn't overly dark in my opinion. Visibility is still perfect at night.

20% all day long. Its not too dark, barely noticeable from the inside yet dark enough to not have everyone and their Ma looking at you. I hate that.

I am a Professional Window Tinter/Film Specialist lol in Florida and the tint laws here are pretty damn respectable. In FL for passenger cars is 15% max rear and 28% max front. I do exactly that...I use two different types of films to make the transition from 15% to 28% totally unnoticable. When I take some pictures of it I will post up!

I have 20% all around on my 06 NBP TL and I think it's too dark. Don't get me wrong, it looks GREAT, but I'm just not digging driving around on back county roads at night with it. You do get used to it eventually, but I still would not do it again unless I drove in a big city most of the time.

Looking back on it, I can't recommend anything lower than 30%. I think 3M makes some pretty good quality tint in 5%, 20%, 35%, and 50%. I still think a 20/35 back/front combination may have a contrast that is a little too noticable. The tint shop I took my car to said they do quite a few 35/50 back/front jobs, just so you know

Navi? You should read the manual to find out what type of tint is recommended. Very debatable topic and the final choice is up to you. Don't select a dyed film because it will fade an turn to a purplish color in approx 4-5 years. The exception to that rule is 3MCS film - guaranteed not to fade.

Oops (see what happens when you answer a question before a cup of coffee) - and you're absolutely correct...... about the TL-S.
