Another random question from me guys .. I have my tinter here near the base and he said he will be willing to do a custom job for my the "eye lids look" in the head lights and smoke the taillights for a cheap cost. what do you think (percentage wise) tint i should get to get the smoked look? He offers 5% -- 35% -- 50% tint. Also if anyone has smoked eye lids on their 05 TL ASM your opinion would help. If there are pics that would be great. Your opinion are greatly appreciated

I'd go with at least the 35% or darker on the tail lights. As far as eye lids......hmmmm, not too many here are gonna like those. But to each their own.

 

duremdez let me know what kind of tint for the tail. I am thinking of getting mine done also. I'd say at least 35%. I am looking for some tint with the glossy finish. Anyone can recommend a brand?

 

Yeah im looking of getting it done this weekend. I have my tinter estimate it for about 25$ a light which is equalling 100$ and he estimated for the look i want he wanted to do 35% or darker. giving it the 5% gives it the "jetblack" look which makes the light faintly visible at the day, and did i mention illegal. As far as i know ill get the 3m film he offers at 35% to give it that look. Not do dark during the night and during the day still visible. Hope this helps.

I am just looking to back out the tail. Is it illegal? Some ebay film cost about $20 bucks. Maybe i should give it a try.

yeah it looks like they use 35% or 20% As far as i know the Arizona law here is 20% and below is illegal because it actually hinders you from reacting to the brakelights (if you are the driver behind me) as for the night its fine. During the day you really need to pay attention, to see that i am braking (as for what the tinter said)

I bought my film off of eBay and was told is was 20%. It's also vinyl... I don't know the drawbacks of vinyl, but I'm pretty happy with it as it is very pliable with heat.
