Timing belt water pump question

Are these things visible without removing anything other than the engine covers? I just got the timing belt kit replaced and I wanna make sure I didn’t get scammed or anything. I was trying to see if I can see the new water pump but I didn’t see anything new there. The only thing that looks new is the belt on the passenger side of the engine is that the timing belt ? Can anyone help? Lol

Nvm I just saw you have to take off the covers to see both timing belt and water pump. I’m not gonna have time to do that anytime soon. Hopefully they did do it.

The belt you were looking at is the accessory drive/serpentine belt.

You can take off the front timing belt cover without much fuss, then go "look at" your new timing belt.

If you were suspicious, why didn't you request to keep the old parts?

I was told I can request the old parts but they’re closed weekends. But I’m starting to doubt less. The car has a deeper tone and it’s a little more loud in cabin tho. And it’s more smooth during idle/warm up, not sure if it’s just coincidence or because they adjusted the timing or valves? And there’s been a burning coolant smell also but it’s not from the tanks, seems like they dropped some around the engine on accident and it’s burning off. So I’m assuming they emptied out the cooling system to change the water pump. Or am I completely off? Lol

The water pump actually sit behind your TB. IF you doubt any work being done, you should ask for the old parts back.
