do it. Same kit i put in my TL and i have had no problems.

everything is OEM except the water pump which is not a big deal. The OEM pump leaks under 70k anyway.

Amazon is telling me that won't work for my Type-S?

Also, in the pic it shows the tensioner and a couple other things from what it looks like. Any idea if it really includes those components also or is it just the timing belt and water pump? Also, it doesn't look like it includes the drive belts...but those are cheap anyway.

Considering postponing my appointment this weekend cause it will save me over 100$ if I buy this kit.

Edit: Rockauto has the same part # as compatible with Type-S. Someone please confirm?

It says it includes:

GATES Part # TCKWP329: PowerGrip Premium OE Timing Belt Component Kit W/Water Pump; 5 Components (1 Belt, 2 Tensioners, 1 Idler, 1 Water Pump)

i'm almost certain it will fit your 3.5. Look up the 2007 RL i'm pretty sure it uses the same kit too. The kit also has instructions for the Odyssey if i remember, so essentially in regards to the timing kit the 3.2 and the 3.5L are identical.

and the kit really includes 5 pieces. All of which are OEM minus the water pump, and as i've mentioned isnt that great to begin with anyway. Makes me wonder why people go through the trouble and cost of getting the pieces in a kit or individually from a Honda/Acura dealer! Any combo from them is > $200. Yeah the drive belt does not come with it but that can be done anytime outside of the timing belt job. This kit replaces everything that touches the timing belt save for the cams and crank (many dealers wont even replace the extra pulleys and hydro-tensioner).

btw i bought mine from Rock auto.

Good to know! Thanks for the info

So I'm guessing that means Gates actually makes the tb and all those parts for Honda but also sell them under their own name? I heard similar stories about the clutch and other parts being made by companies for Honda but Al's being sold under their own manufacturer name...

Im just about to pull the trigger!

i dont think they even make all those parts, just the belt. The other parts though are from KOYO and the hydro tensioner is OEM as well (Nissin?) i forget. Gates probably has an agreement with the other OEMs to put them all in a kit.

Don't forget to get

if you don't have a BIG impact gun. Probably advisable anyway so you can retorque it correctly.

I just used a 1" drive impact and it took that crank pulley bolt off like it was nothing.
