But if you trade at the end of the lease term, it's not the "most expensive way" at all. Any financial planner can show you where buying is more costly, esoecially in terms of cashflow and lost opportunity costs.

Wether you rent or buy if you didn't give the last dollar to the financial institution it's them that are the owner.
renting is a different way of financing
I always rent the cars, keep them 2 years snd 50 000 miles, and i could write off a good part for my taxes.
The best way is too keep the car until it's completly dead, but not a lot of people would like to do that.
