Either way, give the numbers some credit. That's a HUGE wear reduction.
I agree that synthetic is superior and required in specific applications, and some foreign auto makers have even specified a HTHS 3.5cP minimum requirement for their engines, but it's not the end of the world just to follow the recommendations of the particular manufacturer e.g. Acura 5-20 Dino oil. The engine will last a lifetime and there will be no oil related problems, but if one wants to pay the additional amount for synthetic just for peace of mind, that's entirely the individual's choice.

Have a great day!

Finally, I can agree with you on an oil related subject.

okay, I looked some more, Amsoil 5w20 seems to run about 88bux for a pack of 12, mobile 1 5w20 was $96 i believe and redline 5w20 was $116.

I kinda drive geezer style mostly highway, but I do every once and a while get on it hard on highway ramps. Right now my trip computer reads something like 1800 miles, avg speed 38mph, and fuel econ is 27mpg.

which of the above do you recomend? Also, if there's a shop where you buy them from let me know. I live in FL btw, so cold weather isn't a factor. Should i run 5w20? or something thicker? thanks
