i have 06 manual and the tighten gas cap light came on. few questions. i have seen the culprit as pcv, evap purge canister and one other device.

is it ok to drive until i change the part?
part # for evap purge canister?
i just picked up pcv its cheap and prob due to be changed.

is it most likely the purge canister i see lots of post pointing in lots of different directions.

Yeah, there were quite a few. The P/N is 36162-RDV-J01.

Try and call a dealer and see if they would honor the Service Bulletin 09-056 regarding this. You may get this done at no charge

 

My dlr sucks i swapped out the pc valve and reset everything if it come back on ill call and see what the dlr says and go from there. wish they would just good will me the part ill put it on

 

Mine turns on every time I get gas then goes off next time I turn the car on. Been like that for a while

 

Mine hasn't come back on since i replaced the pcv and reset the light but i have only driven about 15 miles guess we will see.

 

do you fill the tank to the max? that will cause it to pop a light also.

 

I fill it till it stops by itself. I dont squeeze any extra in there. So just filling it all the way fill throw the light? Finicky car lol

 

No i wouldn't think so. Maybe try 3/4 tank but i would guess its not because you are filling it to the max

 

Dealer changed this evap purge canister a year ago by recalling and just this week the message appears on my MID. ffffuuuuuuu
