The tie-breaker... TL-S vs. SRT-4... then a little run-in with the police
I was hanging out at the local spot last night with my friends and a group of guys went out to this industrial park to race. We follwed out there, because one of the guys had challenged me so I figured why not. It was a Civic with a B16A swap. Easy kill.
So we got there, and the Civic was already running some CRX. So I asked Justin if he wanted to race, and he agreed. So we lined up, and Porter was flagging us with his crutches (he landed on his knee during a foot race at the spot a while back and broke his leg ).
When the crutches dropped, we were off. Let me just say that I love my T1-S tires. I had minimal wheel-spin and grabbed traction right away. Justin spun quite a bit, however. Up to about 70-80, I was ahead by about a car length, but after that Justin's car showed its advantages; about 800 pounds lighter, had full boost kicking in, and our dyno runs showed numbers within 3 fwhp of each other. After 80, he passed me and when we shut down at about 100, he had a car length on me. Very nice run.
Previously, we had made two runs, one from a 25-mph roll and the other from 40-mph. In the first run I won because he didn't have full boost, but in the 40-mph run, he had full boost kicking, so he pulled on me. This was a tie-breaker for us, and needless to say he won the competition. He is one of the very few people that I do not mind racing because he doesn't talk shit or come up with excuses when he loses; unfortunately there are too many ricers like that in this town and that's why I don't race too often.
Anyway, we doubled back and parked out cars. Not a few minutes after that, someone yelled out "cops" and everyone scrambled. There were about 30-40 cars with us, and due to the position of my car and my friends' cars, we knew we would be the last ones leaving because we had to turn around. So my friends and I stayed back and just waited. As the last cars were leaving, a cop car came in and parked behind my car. At this point, I was shitting my pants because I was the last one to race, and I figured someone had called in my car. But it turns out, the cop just wanted to make sure that we were keeping it safe. For about 10-15 minutes, we were just shooting the shit with the cop and joked about stuff. Then he told us to have a safe night and sent us on our way. Zing!! We got really lucky. But needless to say, we won't be going back to that spot for a LONG time.
We went back to the local spot and the rest of the night went by uneventful. But man, it was a rush. I never got to race the Civic with the B16A swap, but I might ask him tonight. I never race for money, but since he's talking so much shit and I'm confident that I will win, I might offer to race for some gas money.
The end.

Yes Pure..has about 300hp at the crank. I mean all these altimas talking $hit...but man I love to see their faces when Im going from 2nd to 3rd (then we truly play)...and my car just zooms by them!
Oh btw: Your Altima is FWD as well...the only advantage you have is about 200lb difference. Don't get me wrong the Altimas are quick...but don't talk that much crap when you know our car has similar potentials.
