Ticket with clear corners ??

Has anyone gotten a ticket from cops for clearning corners and changing the signal bulbs from orange to white bulbs? I'm getting my headlights cleared next week but i'm not sure if i want to change the stock bulbs. Don't want to get harassed by cops

If you don't change the stock bulbs it will not blink amber. The amber light comes from the orange piece that's removed when you clear your headlights.

You can get an orange bulb or an LED switchback that lights white and blinks amber. I have the LED switchback and I haven't gotten a ticket since I installed it.

The stock bulbs are amber. If you are planning on switching to white bulbs then they will blink white. Unless of course you switch to switchback LEDs. Which are white parking lights, but blink amber. Laws differ by state, but i'm sure NY isn't any different from CT, you need to have amber turn signals.

Regarding a ticket, well it depends on how lucky you get. Yeah you are officially breaking the law, but its up to the PO if they want to give you a ticket. Many people have illegal tint on their car, but have never got a ticket, others have got so may tickets that they just ended up removing the tint.

Stock bulbs are not amber. They are an off-white, pale yellow looking light. This is the stock bulb in a cleared headlight

If you have to go for inspection with the clear corners and white bulbs it won't pass visual inspection. It has to be up to spec with what is oem for that car. If you want just get that switchback or just change the bulb when you go in for inspection.

i dont think you can get a ticket just for that.
if they stop you for something else, they can add that to it though.

Stock 08 TL-S has amber lights. I dont know about 04-06. I agree on the tints. I have illegal tints and havent gotten a ticket once. On my 2nd TL-s i had cleared corners and never had problems with cops. Regarding switchbacks, is it hard to install? Whats the process?

i was bored one day looking up laws and for the three states that i was looking at (FL, TN, and IL) there was nothing about white turn signals being illegal. Two of them said that the front must be amber or white and all three said rear must be amber or red. The last one said nothing about white being illegal. If i can fid that site again i will post it up for everyone so they can see all their vehicle laws.

+1 for Florida.

The one I read specifically said "Turn signals should be white OR amber".

Trew - the OP had mentioned in other threads that he had a type-s, so I knew the stocks are amber. thanks for the heads up tho, i didnt know that the earlier years did not have amber turn signals, makes sense tho since the entire part is covered by the orange reflector.

Just in case anyone from arizona reads this you have to display an amber color on the front -1 for AZ

It doesn't say anything about front turn signals, it only says front clearance lamps and marker lamps. So i see it as a loop hole. My turn signal is neither a clearance or marker lamp. My marker lamp is on the side of my car.

Yes that arizona one is quite vague. Typically under signal lamp section it tells you exactly what you need. Like in BC it states I need a clear or amber front turn signal, washington requires it to be amber "while signalling".

http://www.azleg.state.az.us/FormatD...28&DocType=ARS

The arizona one does not state color on the front signalmarkers at all. Majority is clear or amber up front, some are amber while signalling. Havent seen one where it says it has to be amber at all times.
