Thump from engine soon after shifting to Drive
2004 TL / AT
I feel a peculiar thump vibration - felt mostly via the pedals - when I start the car after it hasn't been running for a while. It happens after I shift into drive, usually in the first 30 seconds after moving. I don't notice it at any other time.
It almost feels like the entire motor is moving a centimeter or so, although this seems unlikely to me. Perhaps it's some sort of clutch engaging for an auxilliary system, like a fan or compressor?
It happens regularly, and it's quite disconcerting. Anyone know what it might be?

I've noticed recently also...though mine is a 6sp. I believe it is a damper or flap that has something to do with the AC/Climate Control. We're all starting to get warmer weather, and instead of the Climate Control starting out with the heater running to warm the interior, it has to engage the A/C compressor to cool the interior.
I do plan on bringing it to the Service Managers attention when I take it in for the first service.

this is the ABS system pressurizing and testing.
it's completely normal, and nothing to be worried about.
a search would have yielded the same results, much quicker
