throttle body cleaning

throttle body cleaning

I was wondering if anyone ever performed it on a 3rd generation tl. I did it on my GS it was a piece of cake. Just wondering if its easy to get to it.

i was thinking about doing this. my plan was to use MAF cleaner and spray it all over and use air to blow everything out

oh geez~

just remove the rubber snout from air filter box to the TB
Now with full access: spray TB cleaner or carb spray cleaner
at/onto the round 3 inch plate,,,it will be black with crud
Spray liberally- use toothbrush if needed

Use key to ON to open/close the plate in a self test - then you can spray the back and edges of it
wipe up runoff with papertowels
Dont use air pressure it it will make a huge mess everywhere!!!!!

start car and shoot more clener thru the TB with engine running- it will get the throat of the manifold where seafoaming the vac port may not reach as well
have fun!
replace all parts- make sure the hose clamps are tight- air leak means bad running
