For those of you wanting the A-spec suspension

If you want the A-Spec suspension kit separately from the entire kit, currently you have to make under-the-table arrangements (eBay, begging your dealer, etc). However, Acura has released an RSX suspension kit separate from its A-Spec. Just found the announcement on TOV.... http://www.vtec.net/news/news-item?news_item_id=243071 . This gives hope to those of you who are still waiting, that Acura will do the same for the TL soon.

Does anyone know FOR SURE whether there is a difference between the A-Spec damper assemblies for the 6MT and 5AT? I talked to my local Acura parts guy and he couldn't confirm or deny. He did say the "knuckle" was different. I don't know what the knuckle is. Help!!!

He said it was a different part number (6MT knuckle vs 5AT knuckle). He was surprised as well.

I mean, officially--as in you walk into a parts department, say "I want the A-Spec suspension for 5AT 2004 TL", and they give it to you without the "we're not allowed" stuff.

My suspension kit just arrived tonight, and I'm planning on having it installed in the next couple of weeks.

I looked on my kit when it arrived today. It just says "Honda" all over it. No answer to the mystery here, I'm afraid.

this still leaves a problem of those of us who just want the body kit and suspension only, and not the steering wheel, rims, tires, and official A-Spec badging.

neuronbob,

Please give us a full report on how your A-Spec suspension performs when you get it installed. Since you have had your car for a while, any differences should be more obvious and discernable. Especially of interest to me, is ride quality change and how well the new shocks handle rough and uneven roads. (I personally feel the stock shocks are too soft for agressive driving)

I am also looking to upgrade my 6MT and was considering the Konis and aftermarket springs, but I would much rather get a proven spring/shock combination -which the A-Spec kit is. I hope that the RSX availability you noted will happen with the TL.
