Lightbulb Thinking of getting a 2005 TL, need advice

Just came back from a quick test drive of a 2005 TL 90K (km) on it.

They are asking around 21K for it (Canadian).

Few questions:

1. how reliable is this car? Should I be setting aside $1K+/year for repairs on it?

2. how many miles/km do you get on a full tank on average? (please state if its a mix of highway/city driving etc).

3. are there any known problems with the 2005 model?

1. About as reliable as you can get with any Honda product. However, some transmissions from '04 and '05 have been prone to failure, and they are quite expensive to replace from what I have read.

2. Without converting to km, I average about 350 miles a tank, 70% highway, 30% city.

3. There may be some US recalls on a couple items, but I'm unsure if Canadian authorities recognize these same recalls or not.

Overall, you will enjoy the car. Highly recommended, even bone stock!

21k is kinda above average i'd say. i got an amazing deal $21,750 with all the extras listed but only 56KM but mine was an extraordinary deal. i think u should have $1k set aside just in case because most ppl sell cars cuz they have problem(s) to fix.

since i bought it im at 61KM now, and the only thing that is bothersome are the million rattles which are very common in this car.

When you say rattles do you mean just driving on the road from road noise... or I'm assuming you mean rattles from your subwoofer.?
