things I would like to see on the 2007 Acura TL

So I am planning on buying a brand new Acura TL next year when the refresh comes. It was supposed to be some time this year for 2006, but they made no changes to the body and lowered the HP to 258

Anyways, here is what I would like to see on the 2007 model

- daytime running headlights
- auto on/off headlights with an AUTO setting on the headlight device
- put the HP back to 270 or higher
- refreshed tail lights and headlights
- for daytime running lights, the headlight design should be the same style, maybe some minor changes, and the fog lights should turn on automatically when the headlights are off as the daytime lights

I plan on getting a silver exterior and black interior, and will probably order it instead of picking one from the lot.

Thanks man. OK that explains it. So if I placed a 270 HP TL from 04 or 05 along with a 258 HP TL from 06, there will be no difference at all. What other new things do you expect the 2007 TL to have?

I would recommend that you do a search. I searched for 2007 TL and came up with this thread.

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...hlight=2007+TL

But if you try different words and what not you might pull up something different.

I myself havent heard anything as of yet. So you might as well pick one up now...

pick one up now....nah there's nothing that has been changed. and also, my car only has 80K miles on it, and still has an extended warranty up to 100K miles. I'm going to wait until my car breaks 100K miles before I sell it. It's still in good condition. The car I currently drive is a 2000 Lexus ES300.

Exactly same like you had 10 baks 10 years ago and 2 baks now!!! Same exact effect!!!
Only one small problem...
As far as I could see only Acura get degraded, neither of TL competitors gets same degradation yet. Sure we could wait, we have time … until next time we need to pick new car … and that would be soon …

I have to disagree with your wishes for auto on/off headlamps and DRL's.

First off, we already have auto off headlamps and this is a good thing in my opinion. However, auto on headlamps are not a good thing for this car because we have Xenon HID lamps. Auto on headlamps will turn on if you go into an underground parking lot or something similar. It is bad for the ballasts to frequently turn these lamps on and off, that's why it is not recommended to flash your headlights with a car that uses HIDs. Incidently, using headlamps in underground parking is not bad at all - I use either them or my parking lights - I was just using this as an example.

As for DRL's, personally I hate the damned things. If you want to use your headlamps during the daytime, go right ahead. I just don't like to see some car company or some government agency mandate that I must do this or have no control over it. My guess is that DRL's have not contributed significantly (if at all) to reducing traffic accidents and in the event the time comes where all vehicles have them, then they won't make any difference at all because your car will look just like eveyone else's car.

I personally like the headlamp and taillight visual application on the TL. I think the taillights and the whole rear side and rear end of the car is one of the best looking designs going. It looks clean, uncluttered, and purposeful. A truly fine design.

As for power, your statement "or higher".. I couldn't agree more. I would love to see more horsepower and especially, more torque with the TL. Being a diehard gearhead, I always want more of both. I have not modified my TL, nor do I plan to do so. I did experiment with a "shorty" intake system of my own making several times, but frankly, the difference was not there. I ran some times and compared them to my box stock times and saw nothing at all in the way of improvement and I cannot explain why other than perhaps the engine's and ECU's states of tune lend themselves to longer external intake runners.

Have fun.
