I know this is a dumb question. I have zero mechanical skill to identify this part.....so I come to you for helps.

Please see attached photo. I was vacuuming the other day and found this weird looking washer right behind the accelerator. Is this part of the accelerator assembly? Safety issue? Should I be concerned?

BTW, mine is 06 TL automatic

 

Looks like a washer has fallen loose, I would assume it is part of the vehicle. Get up under there and see, take pics

 

To me, it looks like that clip holds the cap on the top of the accelerator pedal
