Angry Thin Paint stinks

I have 2 paint chips on my TL with only about 1000 miles on the car. One is slightly off center in the front and the other is actually more on the side, above the fender. I did light freeway driving, but did no tailgating. Looking at the paint job, it's really thin. I hate to see what the car looks like in another 1000 miles. I'm going to get the full size bra tomorrow. Anyone else find that the paint chips easily?

I don't know about "thin" paint, but all of the newer water-based paints seem to chip very easily. My '99 SLK230 has a chip from every grain of san it's ever run into.
