my tl can only get up to 120 km/hr or 75 miles per hour, it is still fairly new (1000 km) should this improve or all all automatics like this? i read threads that say they reached 155, but mine doesnt seem to be anywhere close

Are you using the Sportshift when this happens?

 

Definitely something wrong, either with the car, or maybe the gas you use, or the way you drive (sorry, I have to include that possibility). Whatever it is, it needs to be corrected because you should be able to go all the way to the highest governed speed (not recommended of course but possible) right out the door.

 

I don't care if is AT or MT something is def. wrong.

 

Are you driving in D3?

 

Is the emergency brake on?? Just kidding.

 

Your father or your mother put a limiter because they know you like to drive fast

May be the transmission have a problem, but you should see a Check engine light or something like that

 

As stupid as it sounds, make sure there's no restrictions on gas pedal travel. I had a guy once bring in his car with a similar complaint and we found a D cell battery had rolled under the pedal.
