I've decided I'd like an 07-08 Type S and red is one of the colors I'm considering, but can someone please settle this for me once and for all: Is the bright Moroccan Red Pearl the only shade of red the Type S came in, or was there a darker shade of red as well? A lot of the pictures I keep seeing of red Type S's appear too dark to be MRP. If there is a darker shade of red available, then what's it called? Or is it just the lighting in certain pictures fooling me?

 

Must be the pictures. 07 was the only year for the MRP as far as I know, I don't think it was offered in 2008. 04-06 offered redondo red pearl on the base, but if anything that looked a little lighter of a shade to me.

If 07 was the only year for MRP that's news to me. I thought it was an 07/08 color. If not I guess that's cool, and probably explains why it's the rarest Type S color.

And like already said, MRP is the only red available on any 07/08 TL. It's definitely not a bright red like a Ferrari, more of a somewhat medium darker red in most light. In direct sunlight it really pops and almost looks orange. It's pretty cool and for sure my favorite Type S color...but I'm biased..then again maybe I'm not because I've owned almost all the Type S colors lol.

I'm also a MRP owner, and its incredibly difficult to get anything prepainted. This is what I found out as far as availability in the colors. Apparently it was indeed only offered in 07.

08 MRP TypeS owner here. Only red available for 07/08.

 

I ma pretty sure that MRP available for both 07 and 08 TL base and Type S.

 

Can confirm, Acura dealership I stopped at a while ago had an 08 type s in MRP. There was also an 08 base in MRP for sale localy a few weeks ago.

 

The 2008 TL and TL-S does come in Moroccan Red Pearl.

 

I guess I stand corrected about 08. I was just going off that stuff I found online. IDK I've got an 07 so...?

 

Got to see a MRP TL in person today and it is the color I'll be going with. Pictures and videos really do make it look brighter than it actually is in person. What a gorgeous shade of red!

Just got some disappointing results from a PPI on the local MRP TLS I was hoping to buy. Carfax showed no accidents, but the inspection turned up lots of repainting, a new engine mount, and big problems with the steering. Looks like I'll be shopping long distance.

 

new engine mount isn't a big problem, matter fact some of us already have to replace the engine mount, but seem like the car look horrible underneath so yes its better let it go and looking for another one. When I was looking to buy Type S MRP isn't any where close to the color of choice but despite it has Taupe interior, I scoop up the MRP right after the test drive.
