I have a RL and the shifter in the console has a light indicating what gear you are in. I got in my wife's 04 TL and her's is dark. Wondering if that is the way it is or did a bulb go out? This is down on the console. Thanks!!

 

Should be a Gear Indicator in the Guage Cluster when in full Sport Shift mode.

In full Auto, it's just a P-R-N-D-L lighted tree.

 

- when the parking or headlights are on; I don't recall if the console lights up in daytime.

Normally when in "Drive," an orange indicator dot is lit to the right of the "D" in the gauge cluster, while in SS mode an orange dot appears to the left of the "M" to show manual mode.

 

Sorry for the confusion but I meant the gearshift between the seats. At night does it light up to indicate what gear you are in like my RL. Thanks!!

 

hey freds, i know wht u mean, it did the same thing on my 04tl. sometime it light up and most of the time dont.dose any1 know wht going on?

 

no, it doesnt show by the shift gate, just one the gauge cluster

 

it only lights up if your in tiptronic mode.
