Test Drove Lexus IS350

I recently got a chance to test drive my friends lexux is 350 for an entire week. I have to say the car is very well built. The car doesn't rattle at all unlike our TLs. The suspensions very stiff, somewhat similar to type S suspension. Brakes pretty well. I like the touch screen. Feels different compared to our touch screen. Overall its a nice car. Now for the neg..... interior is way too cramped up and very boring. The speaker is okay not as good as our dolby 5.1. Although the car is quick and faster than the type s, its very boring when accelerating. You can't really feel as to how fast you're going. When i thought i was going 40 miles, the car was actually going 75 miles. I still like my type s better than is350. Wish they had combined the is350 with the TL. That would be perfect.

The seats in those IS' blow ours out of the water. I also wish Acura would have given us a/c seats considering the perforated leather. This really would have been a big seller as well. The ride quality of the Lexus out-does us. I give our Navi system the easy winner. My dad as a Lexus and it's useless. I believe Acura has the best Navi system out there. I test drove the IS250. Gutless car. But with so little horses what do you expect. Cramped? Yes, but if you're not always driving with a full boat, who the hell cares. I have noticed that almost every car-savvy person who's been a passenger in my car, has commented on the sound of my engine when I accelerate with a heavy foot and the v-tech kicks in. Makes me grin

yes our tl engine sound is very sexy. i also have to agree that acura has the best nav sys. i tried using the lexus nav and gave up not knowing how to operate properly. acura nav is simple and easy to use

I pretty much feel the same way about the Lexus. Only thing is my 07 TL-S interior is perfectly quiet, not a single rattle.
I bet your thoughts about the Lexus IS would be different if it was an IS-F ;-)

I used to drive my wife's RXH whenever she is tired (which is ALL the time when I am in the car) & that Lexus navi just drove me nuts when one can't function while the car is moving beyond 5 MPH ....

Finally got a MDX instead ... and no contest IMO that type-s is the winner ... 350 or 250 ..

dude you gotta change the tranny to a diff mode so that you'll get more torque to launch..

Well my fiance just picked up the Is250.. I like the interior.. she got the two tone light leather with gray accents.. looks soo nice.. the leather inside lexus' are soooooo much nicer then Acuras.. Acura needs to step it up in this dept... I also like the exterior.. when parked next to my car, my car is a little bit longer.. I still like how my car looks better.. ONLY because I have done alot of stuff to it.. If it was stock vs stock. i would like the exterior of the is250 better.. and yes they come with a/c seats?! such a great thing for us since we are in florida.. only things i dont like about the car is that it is cramped in the back seat.. and the navi does kinda suck.. I need to remove the 5mph lockout from her car still.. I am installing a navi in my TL as we speak.. (taking a break).. and then i can really judge how much better the acura navi is then the lexus one.. and btw.. the is250 is SLOW.. lol

the one thing that i really like about the Lexus is the whole dealer experience.. much different from visiting an acura dealership.. all we did was drop her car off for its 1k checkup and we had free food and drinks waiting for us.. and they treated us overall much better then any acura dealership I have ever been to.. makes me want to get a lexus next time!!

IS350 is a nice car, but it was way to small for me. The backseat isn't useable if you are over 10 years old.

I heard it's really small inside... like the back doors don't even need to be there because the room in the back is non-existent.

I am a Lexus salesman! I still love my TL!! Even though the Lexus is a Little more Luxurios (They use some of the nicest leather in the industry)The Lexus has no soul its a boring appliance with great service. When needed my dealership will pick your car up from your house or work and bring it in to service it wash and vacuum it and bring it back to your doorstep cant beat the Lexus service.

lexus dealer does make you feel like a vip customer. they look so much more professional. is it the interior design of the dealership? something about it feels sophisticated and upscale. however i dont like any of lexus exterior design when it comes to automobile. I would consider the is-f and thats about it.

Lexus nav is a disaster. Not a drivers car at all.
